Career Milestones:

 

Owned and operated Reader's Exchange book stores which had a chain of four stores in the Detroit area and specialized in used books, pop culture items such as comics, games, and manga.

 

Publisher of Caliber Press, a specialty publisher of comics, games, graphic novels.  Caliber was also the parent company of Tome Press, a publishing house specializing in historical, biographical, and literary adaptations.

 

President of Stabur Corporation, a fine arts publishing house which dealt in art prints, high end book publishing, and licensed merchandise.  Associations at that time include Rocky Horror Picture Show anniversaries, Penthouse, Disney, Museum of Cartoon Art, and many others.

 

Executive Vice President of McFarlane Toys and was in the inaugural company that launched the top selling line of McFarlane Toys built around the popular character of Spawn.

 

Sold various projects to interested studios for possible film and television production including Baker Street, Deadworld, Renfield, Searchers, Disciples, and others.  Wrote film scripts and treatments for various projects.

 

Wrote over 200 comics and graphic novels including most of the Tome Press publications which covered diverse subjects as The Russian Revolution, life of El Cid, True Spy Stories, women of mythology, a new interpretation of Dante's Inferno, and profiles of famous artists such as Mucha, Beardsley, Remington, and Currier & Ives.

 

Currently teaches variety of biology courses including General Biology, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology, and Health at various community colleges. Master of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis on Molecular Genetics.

 

In 2005, returned to comics after the publication of the Complete Baker Street from Byron Preiss' ibooks and Simon & Shuster.  Did two graphic novels for Penguin Books in their Puffin line, Dracula with Becky Cloonan (2006) and Frankenstein with Frazer Irving along with the collection of Saint Germaine from Desperado Publishing and Image Comics.

 

In 2006, collections of Red Diaries, Dead-Killer, and Renfield were published by Desperado in addition to the new series of Deadworld which had the first six issues collected in to a trade paperback.  Also wrote the Spirit of the Samurai, a young adult novel for Actionopolis with art by Rick Hoberg.

 

In 2007, Formed Transfuzion with Rafael Nieves.

 

In 2008, Released newly edited and expanded works on Jack the Ripper, Raven Chronicles, Helsing, Ghost Sonata, Zulunation, and a collection of short stories in Of Scenes and Stories.
