Mike Wieringo Benefit Auctions Are Underway

 

Mike WieringoFrancis Manapul Tellos pieceComic artiest Mike Wieringo died of a heart attack on August 12th of this year. Much loved, many artist have stepped forward with tribute pieces which they hoped to use to raise money for charity in Mike's name. Mike loved comics and he loved animals and his family has chosen The Hero Initiative and the ASPCA as recipients of those efforts. The pieces are being auctioned off at on ebay [link]. A total of eight pieces are being auctioned, most featuring Mike’s signature characters from his series, Tellos. Artists contributing include Frank Cho, Jeremy Dale, Jamie Snell, Nate Lovett, Paul Renaud, Francis Manapul, Tom Beland, and Hero Initiative Board member Jim Valentino. There’s even a Mike Wieringo original donated by Filip Sablik of Top Cow Productions.

 

A touching and heartfelt Tellos piece by artist Francis Manapul (one of the pieces up for auction) is pictured above. It was rendered in pencil and white pencil on colored paper and measures approximately 8-by-12 inches.
