From the Sketchbook ... Page 1
Sharing the work of Max Ink
December 7th - If you've ever attended a comic convention, you know that many artists do quick sketches for fans. They can be a bit of a holy grail item for comic fans as they are often very personal representations of the art. To bring home a sketch by an artist you enjoy is a true treat. I, like so many others, have a sketchbook in my bag anytime I attend a convention. In that sketchbook, some very talented people have shared some great work and it's become something I prize as a cornerstone of my personal comic collection. There are a lot of memories in those pages.
Sitting here today, I wondered why I should be the only person who gets to enjoy that great work? Also, I would hate the thought of anything ever happening to that book and the art being lost. With those two thoughts in mind, I've decided from time to time to scan and share some of the sketchs I've collected. It's my way of honoring the artistry and creativity of those who've took the time to draw in my book.
Page 1 in this new series goes to Max Ink who did a quick sketch of his characters Blink and Sam that is my "go to" image when showing off the book since Mid-Ohio-Con. Thanks Max!
