Besides, who couldn't love an event logo (pictured right) that (whether intentional or unintential) pays such clear homage to the School House Rock graphics of years past. That scores very high marks with me.
Getting back to the show, let's let con creator and co-producer Alex Simmons explain the event...
We opened our “comic book clubhouse” in April 2007, when we launched our first convention (see KIDS’ COMIC CON 2007). What a turnout that was! A great many patrons came to our little get together, some from as far off as the Chicago!
Oh, did I say “little?”
We had over 40 professional artists and publishers, as well as librarians and educators. Oh, and did I mention that over 700 people, parents and young people, came through our doors? All of this took place on the campus of Bronx Community College in the Bronx (home of the Yankees), New York. Everyone had such a great time – especially me – that we’re doing it again!
KIDS' COMIC CON 2008 will feature:
1) professional artists and publishers from the field of kids comics!
2) a huge variety of kids' comics' exhibitions, workshops, panels, and signings, aimed at kids, parents, and educators.
All in one day, March 29, 2008, from 10 AM to 6 PM!

Not enough? Okay, how about the fact that the show's orginizers are also coordinating New York Comic Con’s Kids' Day Evert (which I do plan to cover in person). There are also plans to unveil all the details on the upcoming Random House Writing Competition (Graphic Novel section) also coordinated by Simmons and friends.
This really sounds like an amazing show for a younger comic or manga fan and deserves support if you find yourself in the area this March. Admission for the show is FREE for children 17 and under and $5 for all others. Get more information by visting www.kidscomiccon.com.
