visits the DIY Toy Show "preview" at

April 7,2008 - Between this weekend's Lexington Comic Show (Saturday) and Gem City Comic Con (Sunday), I stopped off and spent some time talking to Comic Related's good friends at Comics2Games in Florence, Kentucky. This is the same place that played host to the recent Blue Line Pro Sketch Card for Cancer Event.

This was the shop's first year experimenting with a DIY Toy Show. Following as close as it did to the recent Sketch Card Event, the store was understandably preoccupied getting all the cards mailed out and resolving the many issues presented by ebay which always seem to come up along the way. Wrapping up that highly successful event took a bit longer than expected and that didn't leave a massive amount of time to dedicate to this year's Toy Show. In the end, the event shifted into a bit of a "preview of the 2009 show".

Comics2Games distributed several munny figurines inviting artists to decorate them for the show. For those of you who don't know, munny's start out looking like this...

Artists then paint and decorate their figures. Below, along with information on each of the artists, we share the 2008 preview entries.
