We're pleased to announce our second annual "We're Not There" convention coverage! Festivities to kick off on July 24th, 2008 ... Nightly podcasting begins July 25th, 2008
Comic Related has yet to make it to San Diego Comic-Con International. Given all the convention coverage we've done so far this year, we've reached our limit for travel and a cross country trip just wasn't in the cards. Yes, we'll be watching the 900 lb. gorilla of comic conventions from afar once again this year.
That said, we're making it a point to not let that stop us from covering the event!
Sounds funny, doesn't it? What exactly do we mean by "We're Not There" convention coverage? Last year we began a fun (some would say crazy) tradition of cobbling together every shred of information we could find as it flowed out of San Diego. It's a kind of stark-raving-mad, link blogging extravaganza we do once a year in honor of this, the show of shows... San Diego Comic-Con International.
During our coverage, we bring together the strongest stories form across the web linking them together and giving you a solid one-stop-shopping look at the ever growing mix of convention coverage we uncover. From the big news sites to the social networks to the smallest of blogs, we'll be rolling information onto the site in real time as we find it from Thursday to Sunday.
As if that wasn't in and of itself a somewhat sizable goal, here's the icing on the cake... NIGHLY PODCASTS!
We have four correspondents who WILL BE attending the show and they'll be contacting us on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to share their experiences and let us know what they've encountered. We plan to immediately take those conversations, add a bit of audio commentary focused on the biggest stories of each day and put it all together for THREE nighly podcasts.
If you live on the west coast, look for the shows in the late night each night. If you live on the east coast, look for them only if you suffer from insomnia and want to fill your iPod just before the sun rises.
We'd like to thank Stephen Lindsay (The Slightly Askew Adventures of Inspector Ham & Eggs & Jesus Hates Zombies), Josh Finney and Kat Rocha (Titanium Rain and The Utopiates) and Glenn (WatchmenComicMovie.com) for taking part in the podcasts. It should be a blast.
Attending San Diego Comic-Con and interested in taking part in the weekend's shows? There's still room! E-mail chuck@comicrelated.com and we'll compare notes.
Just because we're not there doesn't mean we can't do our part to make you feel like you're there. |
