The Concept : Robot God Akamatsu is an valentine to the Super Robot genre of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Giant robots and monsters attack Boston, and Robot God: Akamatsu (RGA, for short) is the city’s only form of defense! Robot God Akamatsu is also about the relationship between a father and his estranged son, about the abuse of power and how far some are willing to go to see their goals met. It’s a little bit Ultraman, a little bit Voltron, a little bit Force Five, and a mighty dollop of Shogun Warriors. RGA is naturally suited for all media – comics, animation, film, toys – and accessible to readers of all ages. The Style : Robot God: AKAMATSU is written and designed to be an episodic, cliffhanger series with larger reaching themes and ideas. Each episode features one major monster, and will explore the characters and their relationships to each other as the series progresses. The script by James Biggie offers plenty of city-leveling action while also laying the groundwork, piece by piece, for a larger story concerning the RGA’s mysterious origin. Each story is bigger than the last, reaching further and further toward the ultimate, city-smashing climax. Co-Creator/Artist Frankie B. Washington handles the visuals –kinetic art inspired by manga, animation, and TMNT-style black-and-white comics. The result is a fast-paced, easily accessible read. Team RGA will be appearing in Artist Alley all four days : http://www.wizardworld.com/teamrga.html
