This gallery is a preview of the Death Hawk: The Soulworm Saga graphic novel...it features beautiful artwork by Adam Hughes, Rik Levins and Darryl Banks as well as a an introduction by New York Times best-selling author, Douglas Clegg.
Death Hawk originally appeared in two back-up stories in Star Rangers from 1987 before graduating to his own title. That inaugural issue featured Adam Hughes first full-length comics work. Although three more issues were completed with art by Rik Levins, only two more were published before Adventure Publications went under. The fourth but never published issue appears in the graphic novel for the first time. While my wife Melissa and I were researching the Everything Guide to Writing Graphc Novels, we decided to form our own publishing endeavor called Millennial Concepts to put out Death Hawk and other comics properties we own as graphic novels. ![]() So, if you're a fan of Joss Whedon's Firefly, the art of Adam Hughes or just good ol' blaster-blazing space opera, Death Hawk: The Soulworm Saga would be right up your hyperspace pathway! Death Hawk: The Soulworm Saga Volume One is 128 page square-bound graphic novel compiling all the stories featuring the 25th century salvage expert and his protosymbiotic partner, Cyke. The hard-luck hero, Death Hawk and the beautiful but treacherous con-artist Brigid O'Shaugnessy/Vanessa Bouvier find themselves unwilling partners as they engage in a quest to discover the secrets behind the ancient alien race known as the Skril and the sole surviving relic of their culture--the mysterious Soulworm. Despite all the other properties I've been involved with, from Doc Savage to Outlanders, Death Hawk and Cyke are my favorite creations. Other graphic novel projects we have in the works include: The Miskatonic Project: The Whisperer In Darkness, The New Justice Machine and Nosferatu: Plague of Terror. Watch this space. -------------------- |
