In case anyone out there is wondering why this forum popped up with nothing in it for days, and why this writer/letterer has an art forum, well this thread is to give you an explanation, if you need one. Though many of you probably do not, especially if you've been reading my Journey of a Wannabe column.

The fact is that I was an artist long before I was a writer, letterer, or anything else for that matter. I loved to draw from an early age, and though my path altered and deviated a bit, drawing is still something I love even if I'm not as good at it as I would like. Maybe some day, but I digress.

The reason I asked Chuck to add this particular forum was so that I could, from time to time, post some of my past and present artwork. Maybe it will become like kind of an online art journal of sorts, tracking my progress from a child to the present. I don't know. What I do know and can promise you is that while you may see stuff posted here that you've seen elsewhere (like in the column, my blog, or on my site), you will definitely see stuff posted in this forum, over time, that has not and will not appear in any of those other places. Why? Because that's what I'm using this whole forum area for, to give extra stuff that you can't find anywhere else, and to hopefully garner interest in the stuff I'm doing.

So, soon I will begin populating this forum with various pieces of artwork. I'm not sure what I'll start with, or when I'll start, but it will be soon. And I hope you keep coming back to see what's new. And please feel free to leave comments and critiques. Though, while I do ask that you be honest, please don't be too mean. Some stuff will be old, and the stuff that is new is coming from an artist who hasn't drawn actively for many years now, so I'm behind on the learning curve. A lot of what I do these days is just for fun or practice, but it's always nice to know what I'm doing wrong, and what I'm doing right!

I look forward to conversing with you about it!

Well stated, Brant. Will certainly be looking forward to seeing your work here. And again, I'm really anxious about the new CR strip.
I think that is so going to rock. Good luck, amigo.
