Chuck interviewed me for the latest podcast and I enjoyed talking with him and the time went by fast.
But when I went to check it out, then I realized that I wasn't aware of all the podcasts that he had done previously so now I'm getting a chance to go through them. It makes working on tedious fix-ups on Photoshop go by much quicker! So, mainly wanted to say thanks to Chuck but also let him know he's doing a great job with everything. -------------------- Gary Reed

Oh yeah, you guys have to play catch up. Chuck's done some really fun shows, including the one with you, Gary. It was really great listening to you talk about your history in comics and writings. I enjoyed it immensely. Hope your career has many more miles to go,
amigo. |

Thanks you guys! Doing that show is one of the most enjoyable things I'm doing right now. Basically, every Wednesday you get a new one. For anyone who wants to catch up, you can check out who we've spoken to and who we're checking in with next here...
http://www.comicrelated.com/podcast.html If you're an iTunes-type person, under the Advanced tab in iTunes select "Subscribe to Podcast" and type comicrelated.libsyn.com/rss and each week's episode will be there when you're in the mood to hear me chatter. It was really fun talking to Gary. I'm recording interviews for the next two shows this evening and this Sunday. Cheers! -------------------- Chuck Moore

I didn't even know there was a podcast here! To be honest, I didn't either until Chuck talked to me at Chicago about it and arranged the interview. First one I listed to was Ron Fortier's...and even though he neglected to say that Boston Bombers (published by Caliber) was the book that made his career....I still enjoyed it.... -------------------- Gary Reed

Holy smokes, what a goof. I hereby set the record straight. Boston Bombers, published by Gary Reed's Caliber Press, is the book that
made me a household name! (Well, at least in this house. Up until then it was simply "Hey, you asleep in the lounge chair!") Honestly, thanks for listening in, Gary. Your support with Bombers meant tons to me back then and I wish were more publishers and editors had your insights and loyalty. Keep flying, amigo. |

I just listened to the Gary Reed interview podcast.
That was excellent. It was almost a history of indy comics lesson. I cannot recommend it enough. Chuck you definitely need to pimp these out more so more people can hear it. ~Kris -------------------- |

Amen to that, Kris. If you're a comic fan, Gary's life is a road map of the media and its ups and downs during the past thirty years. What amazes me is Gary's spirit, which after all the hard knocks, remains optimistic and undaunted. He's one hell of a good guy and I'm damn proud
to call him a pal. |

Gary Reed Podcast. Very good stuff. This guy is definitely a pillar standing in the midst of comic history and a true survivor.

Another great Comic Related Podcast. I thought it was cool that the podcast before Mid-Ohio Con (episode # 37) has two of the three numbers of the Comic Related booth at Mid-Ohio Con (booth#337).
Enjoyed Bill's conversation about what Bendis has planned after Secret Invasion (Dark Reign) which will feature at least on new title that I am aware of Dark Avengers... ![]() Looks like Namor is going to start hanging with a very .......sinister six. (yes that's sex change Loki at the top of the picture). Loved Wendy's take on Buzzboy and Roboy Red. Until she mentioned it I forgot I had a special preiveiw copy of a book that features both characters that I picked up Free Comic Book Day 2007...and never read yet!!! ![]() ...it got buried at the very bottom of my ever growing to read pile....just fixed that mistake and it's the next book I intend to read. And guess what's on the very last page of the book. A full page ad...for Baltimore Con (2007 version). See....It' All Related. I also would personally like to applaud Wendy (and Bill) for their efforts to increase awareness about breast cancer. Good job. ![]() The first time I met writer/artist team Sean and Stephanie Forney was at an event in Westerville Ohio for a fund raiser/street fair....which proceeds went to breast cancer. -------------------- "Reality is only for those who lack imagination" don't know who first said that....but it works for me!

I had quite a few people who found the interview and started exploring more of the podcasts and they all expressed positive reactions. Just need a few thousand more fans coming to the site.... -------------------- Gary Reed

Just need a few thousand more fans coming to the site.... I like that sentiment! To help take steps toward that goal (seemed like a good spot to share)... 1) I'm working to improve our visibility in iTunes by recoding the way podcasts are listed there (still learning on this front) 2) Just signed a multi-episode sponsorship with Indie Spinner Rack (to help spread the word and encourage small press creator content) once again 3) John, Bill and I handed out 100 sample CD's at Mid-Ohio-Con containing 10 episodes of the Related Recap and subscription info Can't believe we recorded and shared of seven hours over audio during the Mid-Ohio-Con coverage! This is the model I plan to use for all future con coverage podcast-wise. Cheers! -------------------- Chuck Moore

I have a thing nowadays where I listen to the comics podcasts while I scan in my pages and do work in Photoshop. Just very creatively inspiring.... and much better than listening to/pseudo-watching TV. Scott -------------------- |

Travel and work that doesn't involve creative writing... Either of those two, I'm usually listening to podcasts.

![]() Comic Related Re-Cap #51. Incredible and Inspirational!!!! Nothing more I like better than sitting down at the drawing table while listening to two very talented and exceptionally cool guys talk about their past, present , and future in the comic field. Scott-I was smiling like a mule eating bry at your tales of notebook comics and your "knock-off" heroes. ( I had a few of them myself....) Brant-Loved the Epic story...that seems to be a very common experience among Comic Related family members. Can't wait for the new column. Chuck-as usual....well done. Thanks for having these guys on. "CHEESE IS YELLOW!" HAHA, thanks, G-Man! I finally got to listen to it myself this afternoon, and I thought it came across quite nicely. I really enjoyed it, as well as Chuck's always clever and fun intros and epilogues. Thanks for the interview, Chuck, and thanks to everyone who listened! Oh, and the column goes live tomorrow! -------------------- |

Scott-I was smiling like a mule eating bry at your tales of notebook comics and your "knock-off" heroes. ( I had a few of them myself....) Thanks, Bill! A part of me wishes I still had some of those early early drawings, like the ones with BatBoy and Blue Lantern, naturally done on typing paper or various colored scrap paper in ballpoint pen or just pencil. But I do still have some from the days when I was around 11 and 12, starting to create my own characters. The notebook images are where I really experimented with technique and form, shadow, shapes, and abstracting images. The 3-D images worked decently in most cases, and friends would typically put on 3-D glasses and check them out. Scott -------------------- |
