It's off to the printer right now, Mannie. I'll be getting a proof back in the next few days (hopefully). Then when everything is perfect (again, hopefully), I'll be ordering a run to have for Champion City and Mid-Ohio Con. It's almost a physical reality.... yay!

In other DSCFAH news... as of today actually... I've put pen to paper and the first two chapters of book two are written. I'll let those simmer as I move on through a few more chapters and then come back and decide what to dramatize in panels. Once I get a few pages of panel work ready I'll contact you and see if you have some time available.

Right...here's some sketch work from Mr. Kevin Hicks. He and I are collaborating on a project called "Trio". I guess the best description I can give is it's "The New Mutants" meets "Harry Potter"- ish. Anyway, we should have the first issue, a whopping 44 pager, ready for next year's Gem City.

Thanks, Jef, but I don't think Trio will be in color. That was Kevin playing around with one of the characters (although Kevin is one heck of a colorist). We'll see what develops- I've had the pleasure of meeting several talented colorists, it's just a matter of finding the money to pay them. Keep your fingers crossed.

Oh, John, you don't have to stay intrigued. Hit me with your email and I'll send you the script to read. Wouldn't mind your opinion on it. Obviously, I know how busy you are, and there wouldn't be any time frame on replying. Just whenever you would get the chance to take a look at it.

You know, Bjay's birthday has gotten me thinking, today. It's made me realize the difference having a family of creators makes. Here on this site, where we all collaborate, leads to great things. Chuck, Brant, and John have built a tremondous site and welcomed everyone with open arms, and, even better, free promotion. This family can make such a difference to a creator and his or her projects. Speaking just from my side of things, here is the cover to No Gods #1. It's the best I, as a writer, could do.

Now, two years later, the cover has changed. First, I ran into Bjay and Chris of Studio Akumakaze. Chris was cool enongh to design a logo for me. Last year, at Chicago Comic Con, my brother was taking pictures of creators in artist alley to post on CR. He pointed out one of the creators, a colorist, by the name of Jimmy Vargas. I checked out Jim's stuff and just a month ago, hired him to color the No Gods covers. Thanks to CR, I have a wonderful forum to display my work, and thanks to its networking, I have a wonderful group of creators to help me.

Chris Hoskins- logo- www.studioakumakaze.com
Jim Vargas- colors- www.jimvargas.com

Add to these color covers all the pin-ups you've seen in this forum, and suddenly, I have a nice set of books that I could never have created on my own. Thanks to everyone.

I second that motion! This site is truly awesome and all the support the folks show each other and the creative types hereabouts is incredible. I hope it's here forever.

Hi Dustin, sorry it's taken me so long to get to this. Been wicked busy since meeting you and the crew at Pulp Fest. Wanted to thank you again for the autographed copies of NO GODS and tell you how much I truly enjoyed the books. I'm a man of faith and am leery of most comic themes that deal with religion as most young writers, those with no real life experience under their belts, tend to scoff at religion and faith as something stupid and silly and thus their work is mostly offensive and often time sacrilegious.

Not so with yours. Oh, you do have characters who come across as fanatical and others as ignorant jerks, but they are intended to portray a world view that you actually examine fairly from all sides. Which is why I liked the series a great deal. There was much thought behind it and for a young dude like you, that's most impressive. You understand both human psychology and philosophy and use them well to make these characters truly interesting. Oh, there is plenty of action, but it is never the focus here. NO GODS is about thinking...making people think for themselves and that is always a good thing.

Bravo. You truly have a very bright future in the comics game and if NO GODS is your starting point, I can only imagine where this storytelling muse will lead you. Good luck. And thanks.
