According the what I've heard and read on-line, both The Avenger Chronicles and The Domino Lady Chronicles have been delayed by at least a month from their release dates. In fact, I only received the proofs of my Domino Lady story last week to go over and check for typos.
This for a book that should have been out last month. As much as I love these pulp collections from Moonstone, they often have trouble maintaining their schedules. Hopefully the fans will hang in there as both titles are going to be really special. |

I'm not as familiar with The Avenger, but I'm certainly looking forward to reading the Domino Lady Chronicles! How to the proofs look Ron?

Actually the book design is really nicely done with a nice domino mask used with chapter breaks. And the interior art by Ver Curtiss is
fun. Domino Lady was a rather whimsical pulp heroine and I think people not familiar with her are going to really enjoy this collection. I personally had lots of fun writing my DL story, CLAWS OF THE CAT. I'll certainly keep you all posted as to when the book is released. |

I just read The Avenger #15, House of Death.
A powerful family with branches throughout the world are meeting, each with a medallion that identifies them as members of the family. One time very wealthy and powerful, much of their fortune was lost through the machinations of the countires they lived in, like Turkey, Russia, and Germany. The Vanger gets involved and finds his way to a house that has more booby traps than the average Indiana Jones movie. Not the worst in the series, but hardly one of the best. The Avenger has black hair, instead of white, so it is a later book, but Cole Wilson, is, thankfully, absent. |

Hi Glen. There were only a handful of Avenger novels written in the pulp days. I don't believe the series went beyond 12 issues. Then
when the paperback re-issue of Doc Savage took off like wildfire, the same company decided to follow up with doing the Avenger but since they only had a limited quantity, they hired writer Ron Goulart to do new books, of which HOUSE OF DEATH is one. Fun story about this. Quite a few years after the paperback series ended, I was at a comic con in Philadelphia and among the books I'd taken along to read for that weekend was one of these "new" Avenger paperbacks. So here I am sitting at my table when who starts to walk by me but Ron Goulart. I called out his name, dug into my backpack, pulled up the paperback and had him autograph it. He signed it both as Ron Goulart and Kenneth Robeson. Now how cool is that! |

That is way cool.
I prefer the original stories, with the white hair, and I really hate Cole Wilson for some reason that I cannot pinpoint. |

Yo Glen,
While surfing Amazon.com the other night, I saw they had the new Moonstone AVENGER CHRONICLES listed as "available Aug. 20th" Hmm, I'd better get my order in. |

Got the book this week.
It's really excellent, although in some ways the range of stories wasn't as wide as in the Spider chronicles. Also, Ron, Chris Mills, Chuck Dixon, and Bill Crider were definitely missed. The stories contained in the book are great, but I can't help but to wish these authors could have participated and made it that much better. |

So, write a letter to Moonstone and tell them that.
you mentioned were left on the bench this time out. Oh well, I still want to get a copy of this, as the character is a pulp favorite of mine personally. |

To be honest, I just sort of assumed that you and Chris were in it. I was surprised when I found out otherwise.

That is way cool. I prefer the original stories, with the white hair, and I really hate Cole Wilson for some reason that I cannot pinpoint. Cole Wilson is just flat out annoying. Even though I've got all of the AVENGER paperbacks I rarely read the Goulart ones since he plainly liked Cole Wilson more than any other character and some of those books read more like "The Adventures of Cole Wilson". If I remember right, some of them had The Avenger sending Cole (along with Nellie) to investigate something strange happening somewhere and then the bulk of the story would be about Cole and Nellie with The Avenger showing up near the end. |
