Back home! Options

I just wanted to let some of you guys know that I am back home from the hospital after my car accident! I was hoping my wife would let you guys know but she couldn't figure out the site, so hence the long silence. If you don't know what happen, in short a drunk driver hit me last week. I broke my left arm, two fingers on my right hand are kind of screwy, a clasped lung and a concussion, left leg has a small fracture, but just needs a brace for that problem. I am fine... have lots of pain killers, but I was unconscious for two days and my lung clasped three times after the accident. I just wanted to let you guys know what happen so you don't think I am snubbing you all! I am hoping to be back on my feet very soon and working again too. My computer was damaged too and I lost some data so that is the biggest reason why I am telling you guys here and not one on one emails... I lost emails, photos and a whole bunch of other important stuff... so yeah, I am not usually this public about my life so this is kind of hard for me but I am hoping that this is the last straw on a very bad ending summer and fall season... I won't get into huge details but basically deaths in family, money issues, personal problems and now this problem, so my spirit is a bit shaken and my outlook is not a good right now. So if any of you I have not contacted by email please try on your end so I can have your emails again.

Wow, Mark, I'm really glad to hear you're alright! That sounds horrific. I'm sorry that it's been a hard time in general for you lately, but like you said, here's hoping that's the last of it. Feel better!

Oh, my God, Mark, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. You'll be in my prayers. Auto accidents are the worst. I've known too many people that have gotten into them and come out alive, but never the same. If you need anything, let me know. I mean that.

Are you able to do any drawing while in the hospitol? If not (due to the fingers) - maybe you can catch up on the reading of art books and stuff.

Thank you all for the very kind words. I am able to draw, a little... I think, I haven't tried yet, so that is mainly to you John, if Alan wants to move ahead then I fully understand because that deadline won't be meant, I can try later this week to get what I have and get back on the horse and get'r done by sometime this month? I can't really give ya a straight deadline until I can get up and going

So drawing is possible, I broke my humerus, well, it didn't break in two, it kind of has a horizontal crack in it, I am able to type if I just lay my arm there, the weird thing is that it doesn't hurt to much, its my darn two left right fingers that the doctors swear to me that are not broken, but they hurt pretty good, again, weird thing is that it's my ring and pinky finger so all in all I hurt in all the right places:) My leg is ok, I can stand on it and I don't need crutches, thank goodness on that, I hate those things, been on those at least four or five times growing up. As for not being the same, the only really good thing that came out of this experience is that I don't remember it at all, I remember being at my friends house watching the debate, leaving his house and then waking up feeling not so good. Thats it, so that is really weird because I have never lost that much time before, I have lost a few minutes or back in the days when certain substance's would allow you to lose a couple of hours. So kind of still thinking it's last week...

About the poor SOB who hit me he has a cracked sternum and had three warrants out for his arrest already! Jeff, suing the guy would only be spending our tax money and then I wouldn't see a bloody dime from the guy anyway and if he has kids and a college fund for them I wouldn’t want to punish them for their fathers mistakes, but I doubt he has. The cop told me he is a trouble guy and has had many problems already. Oh, no insurance too, so no suing them either

So that’s it, I want to say thank you again, my family is doing well, my wife actually is upset with me because I am so calm about the whole thing, which is funny. My daughter is just happy daddy is back home and we can cuddle more because I am on the couch more. As for money issues, thank goodness my wife has a great job at a big insurance company and thank goodness they have good insurance, right now! Oh, the car was not totaled out so that to is good and I have a good friend who runs a body shop to thats being fixed and the computer was fixed be another dear friend and is up and running again. So all-in-all it could be much worse and like I said I am fortunate to not remember any of the accident at all!

I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words and unfortunately, as I have found out and as while as John Wilson (again, sorry John ), my ability to doodle is very limited because of my two right fingers

But I just wanted to say thank you again for the words of kindness and hopefully I will be back up and working very soon!

Sorry to hear about your accident. I have a friend who was hit about six weeks ago and she is still out of work because of it! You have a great attitude. Most people would be trying to figure out how they could gain from the misfortune. Instead, you are looking at the positive. You are alive and have your family. Good for you. Well, just to give a quick update on my health... I did fracture my two fingers on my right hand, so I have those all out of commission, just till the second week of November, at least that's what the silly doctor, who told me that my fingers where ok in the first place, said. The splint or whatever you call it on my left leg is gone! Yeah, I can walk again, the leg is still pretty sore but overall not to bad. The headaches are gone and my left arm is out of the sling, still sore like a mother and has a cast around my upper arm, which by the way, you want to talk about some serious itching! YIKES!

Thats it. Don't know much about the fellow who hit me, the insurance company is on his butt though! So, that much I do know, but otherwise thats it. Been trying to keep myself busy with none drawing things and trying not to go nuts by not getting downstairs, or at least I was, now I can

Well that's mostly good news. The headaches being gone has to be the biggest thing. Things can hurt, but when it's my head I don't feel like myself.

Ironic about the fingers though. I always tell people at work that if I'm going to get hurt it just can't be with my right hand. Bang me up and keep me home from work... so long as I can type and draw I'm fine.

Hope the fingers heal quickly and things keep moving on the upswing for you.

Sorry hear you gets in accident by drunk driver and thats must be really painful. My family and I will pray you for health and fast recovery. Thats good you doing well and news to hear updates of your health. Keeps us post it.

Again, many thanks and everything is good! The mishap has really been good, it has allowed me to focus on what I should be really doing and not just sitting here spinning my wheels!
