Here's a pencilled pic (darkened) that I did as a tryout for a book that was looking for an artist a few months ago. Did a sequential page too but I haven't heard back from the editor so either I wasn't chosen or the project just fell through. I'll probably get it inked one of these days...

I appreciate being asked to audition for it though. wink.gif

Cleaning out my files, I ran across a few pieces I thought I would share.

This was another huge pic I was too lazy to crop it all in. Like I said before, I am a Connery fan the kid likes Moore.

Here's another pic that I did for commission a year ago but made a copy of it before the exchange was made, got it inked and colored.

Here's a gag caricature that I did last Christmas once I found out that Shatner wasn't in the new Star Trek movie.

Nothing really major but just thought I'd share. smile.gif

Well before I emailed this pic to my inker I made a few changes to my pencils like getting rid of Shellhead's angry eye slits, tweaking the helmet and whatnot. I got it back this evening from my inker buddy so now I'll try and get it colored next.

I plan on framing these side by side once I get it maybe... Inks by Tournas.

I loved Iron Man from the 80s growing up so that is what I channelled. smile.gif

For those interested, here's another non-spoiler SHYLOCK page I pencilled; inks by Tournas. I hope that you like it and as always, thank you for viewing my work. smile.gif

Hey, all.

Been really busy with this and that but still drawing. I did a small con recently where I did mostly sketches. Here's one that wasn't fortunate enough to get bought; it's a pencil, pen & brush piece. Thought I share it with you guys. Hope you like. cool.gif

No love for The Penguin I guess...

Your work is just incredible, Mike. Would really like to write a short script for you that maybe we could get into some horror comic anthology.
If you're interested?

Thank you so much, gentlemen; glad you all approve. It appears that, with younger comic fans, Penguin isn't as glamorous as other villians of today. I always enjoy drawing him though. smile.gif

Ron, I should be wrapping my latest comic issue up soon enough so I have an open window to work on other projects; I know that Tony M. was interested in working with me on something as well so I promise to let you both know. So yes, I'd love to do a short with you. cool.gif

Super, Mike. In the meantime, I'll get the script written out. I'm thinking it'll be 5 or 6 pages tops. Like a said, a little Twilight Zone type
ditty that we could then push to some anthology title.

That sounds good to me, Ron. wink.gif

I've never been a fan of Jason Todd so...

...I did this one the other night. Spur of the moment thing after reading some of my old Batman stash.

Here's a cellphone shot of my son's entry in a district art contest at his school. He submitted this to his art teacher this past Monday...

He just used different shades with a pencil.

Great stuff as usual Mike. And your son is shows some real art chops there as well.

And yes, I definitely love to work with you on something. I just finished a comic so I'll have to get my butt in gear and write this book up.

Thank you, Tony. smile.gif

I've always liked certain styles of animation; last night, my son and I were flirting around with different styles if they were ever in a cartoon series. Here's one of mine:

I'm not used to leaving out alot of detail for a cartoony look. Can anyone here color that in an animated tone?

This is a great thread. I am a big fan of the darker imagery, and think in this thread you capture that so effectively.

Great work. Just amazing.

Hey thank you so much. I'm glad you approve and welcome to the site. wink.gif

I was commissioned by a woman that works with me to do a portrait of her toddler niece for her birthday so I was under the gun to get it done in time. She was pleased & in tears and paid me nicely. I only hope that the parents are just as happy with this gift. I wouldn't want the baby girl to grow up, seek me out and punch me out for a poor rendering. biggrin.gif

Well her are a couple of quick cellphone shots of this huge illustration. Let me know what you think.

Here's a tryout page that I had forgotten about; I couldn't line it up properly but it was fun to do anyway. I wasn't planning to go this far with it at first...got carried away I guess.

Also, the b&w pinup of the colored version you've already seen.

Just a fun caricature of my co-workers...

Well, they got a kick out of it... biggrin.gif
