I just bumped into this video over on Blog THIS! Now [visit this link] and Gordon made my morning! It's a special 7-minute Dr. Who episode set between Last of the Time Lords and Voyage of the Damned. A paradox causes the Doctor to meet...the Doctor. Five vs. Ten - it's a fanboy's dream come true!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Gordon! As Gordon says over on his blog... "Watch it before it gets pulled."

Check it out here...

And that ending speech by Tennant...my kudos to him and Stephen Moffatt (sp?) who wrote it.

Sheer meta-genius.

When he said "you were my Doctor" it took me right back to the late 70's sitting in my living room waiting for my Doctor (Tom Baker of course) broadcast another 30 minute episode on PBS. Being in the 8-12 range, I would get SO excited when that opening music would come on the television. This video brought that feeling right back to me today.

Whereas I was just a wee (ha) bit older than you in those days, Baker was also my "first" Doctor and I remember wanting to find someone in the family to knit me a scarf just like his. Alas, it never happened. Which is why that bit with the
clothes and especially the glasses and sneakers was just perfect. They had better put this clip on the DVD collection as a bonus..or fans will riot.

It actually might not be released on DVD, because it was done for charity. (That's one of the reasons why the infamous Dimensions in Time sketch was never released on any format). However, since Curse of the Fatal Death (for the UK Comic relief) was released on video...one never knows.

Of course, they could always put it on a DVD...and then just mark it up with a percentage to charity. At the very least, it's a great way to thank the fans.

...Or bring about a renaissance of decorative vegetables. cool.gif

This is one of those occasions where I am so glad I am wrong. rolleyes.gif

The first Children In Need sketch with David Tennant was included on the Series 2 DVD box set. Of course, this could mean that when Series 4 is released on DVD....Time Crash may be released, presumably as an Easter Egg.

Just thought I'd bring a little bit of Whovian warmth....

Hot dog! Now I KNOW I have to get those boxed sets. They've been on wish list for a while. Hopefully Daughter of Dracula will sell in
the millions, I'll get filthy stinking rich, and be able to buy them all. rolleyes.gif Hey, a fellah can dream, right?

I posted a ton of Doctor Who stories to the show's Media hub here in Comic Related [link], but the standout story for me featured this photo...

Parents Build Tardis Bedroom for Their Little Doctor Who Clone

QUOTE
Unfortunately, there is not much in the way of information (or pictures for that matter) of the Tardis bedroom that Steve Baker of Sittingbourne, Kent, built for his 10-year-old son George, but the image included here should give you the gist. Obviously the kid is a rabid Doctor Who fan —an obsession that is only encouraged by the fact that everyone notices that he looks like a miniature David Tennant. Watch your back David—George will probably be after your job one of these days.

I love it!!! That is just so wonderful. This boy's parents get a round of applause of me. Supporting your child's imagination is this way shows a love far beyond the call of duty. biggrin.gif I've a hunch maybe Ma & Da are also Who fans. What do you think?

I'm betting that has to be the case. How else could you pull off that level of detail and understanding of the set?

According to a BBC press release former ER actress Alex Kingston and James Bond film regular Colin Salmon are among those featured in season four. Here's all the details...

British actors Alex Kingston and Colin Salmon have joined the stellar line-up of guest stars for the fourth series of BBC One's BAFTA award-winning drama Doctor Who.

Alex Kingston, best known for roles in ER and Moll Flanders, will appear in a Steven Moffat penned two-parter as River Song – a mysterious character who meets The Doctor on an expedition to uncover the secrets of an abandoned library.

She is joined by James Bond regular, Colin Salmon who also stars in the two episodes.

Alex Kingston comments: "I used to watch Doctor Who through the crack in the door. I was so terrified but I couldn't tear myself away. I loved it so much and I'm so delighted to be a part of the new series."

Award-winning actress Catherine Tate is reprising her role as Donna, the runaway bride, and will star as The Doctor's companion throughout the new series alongside David Tennant as The Doctor.

The first episode of the eagerly awaited new series will witness Donna tracking down The Doctor during an alien emergency in modern-day London.

The couple are destined to experience a series of wonderful adventures throughout the series including meeting one of Doctor Who's most popular aliens, The Ood, in a brand new episode, Planet Of The Ood.

Donna and The Doctor will also be traveling through time for an encounter with the legendary murder mystery novelist Agatha Christie and taking a trip to Pompeii.

Further guest stars already confirmed to appear in the new series include Sarah Lancashire, Felicity Kendal, Lesley Sharp, Georgia Moffett, Lindsey Coulson, Fenella Woolgar, Tim McInnerny, Peter Capaldi, Phil Davis and Tracey Childs.

Freema Agyeman who has played Martha Jones, The Doctor's companion throughout the critically-acclaimed third series, will also return to the show to join The Doctor and Donna mid-series.

The fourth series of Doctor Who is now in production and will hit BBC One in Spring 2008.

:sniff: I couldn't watch it. It's been pulled down. :sniff:
I will say that I spazzed hardcore when I first heard about this a few weeks ago. Though I can't say for sure who was my "first" doctor (my parents exposing me to the show as an infant) I can say that I bore a hole into my mom's tape of Logopolis and Castravalva.

Regarding the kid's bedroom, I would have KILLED for that room when I was his age. Lucky bastard. smile.gif

Anybody else listen to or have any of these? I personally love them... even if they aren't considered "cannon."

For those who might not know, these are audio dramas with as many of the original cast of Doctor Who as possible. Many of the writers went on to write for the TV show.

I've actually heard several of them - I'm not a whole-out Big Finish fan; I usually listen through friends, and stories that appeal to me.

Personal faves include the Unbound Series (well, all but Exile and He Jests at Scars), the I, Davros series, Spare Parts, The Gathering (or, "Big Finish's version of School Reunion), and The Council of Nicea.

The great thing is now, Big Finish allows you either to purchase the dramas on CD or, for a few dollars less, to download them straight from the site.

You know, I've been getting into Gaiman's Sandman...and I'm looking forward to seeing him pull it off.

Personally, I really wish they would ask Jasper Fforde - he would be a perfect writer for Who. His books are extremely witty, literate, and just plain fun..and he lives in Cardiff.
