Deadworld: Slaughterhouse, the newest saga set in the Deadworld should now be available in all stores. Issued in hardcover format, the focus shifts to a hidden establishment that uses humans as guinea pigs in a desperate attempt to rid the world of the zombie menace. The sacrificing of a few in order to save the species brings forth varying moral beliefs...and actions.

Art is by Sami Makkonen who just finished the Hatter M graphic novel which is part of Frank Beddor's The Looking Glass Wars saga that is on the New York Time's Bestseller list.

Wow. Definitely the most horrifying and dark of any of the Deadworld stories i've read so far. I loved reading it all in one shot and the hard cover format is great. masterfully plotted and with the addition of the horrible photographs to Sami makkoney's moody art that is perfectly suited to the story made it a very disturbing read. I loved everything about it an can't wait for more. I haven't been disturbed by a read in a while and this is impossible to not be a little disturbed by. Great Job.

Are there different covers? Mine has a female on the cover. Were sales decent enough to hopefully continue the saga?
Thanks!

Why, thanks Frank. Glad you liked it. I had worked on that story a long time ago and sort of shelved it as I wanted the right artist and when Sami came along, he was the one.

I wanted to do a lot more with it but I'll have to settle for what was the four issues. Slaughterhouse is just a chapter in the entire DW saga and we have another all new book coming out in the fall...DEADWORLD: THE LAST SIESTA. Again, it will be a self contained graphic novel (not sure if hardcover or soft yet) and illustrated by Mark Bloodworth. Mark is always good but this is his best stuff I've seen. It looks fantastic (I have the first 20 of so pages that are completed in grey wash).

The cover shown here was actually the first comic as it was to be a four issue series. When the switch to the graphic novel came, the girl was chosen. The other covers (for Slaughterhouse 2 and 3) will be used somewhere and I think one of them will be on the Deadworld Omnibus which collects ALL of Requiem for the World, Frozen Over, and Slaughterhouse into one collection....from Desperado and IDW in September, I believe.

Thanks for the reply and info Gary,

Yeah I was bummed when it ended and was wondering how you were going to fit all the plot threads into the fourth chapter--there was definitely a lot more you could have done with it but it was still great the way it was.

Yeah it will be good to have bloodworth back, he will bring back some of the old school DeadWorld vibe to it. Looking foward to the omnibus. I hope they eventually collect all the stuff including the second Caliber series, those are IMPOSSIBLE to find. Mile high, ebay you name it there are about ten that are harder to find than osama freaking bin laden.

I forgot that was the cover to the first issue. I love this cover though. Females are always better for covers. smile.gif Even if they want to make a buffet of your brains.

Thanks again
