I'm very happy to say that the graphic novel I've created and written (and inked, colored, and lettered) is FINALLY coming to a store shelf near you! After a year and a half, the book is making it's debut in June Previews.
THE CHAIR is a psychological thriller that takes place on death row. Richard Sullivan has spent the past 10 years on death-row, awaiting execution for crimes he claims he never committed. But lately strange events have started occurring in the prison, including a piling body count of inmates, a viciously sadistic warden, and enough twists and turns to make Sullivan question his own sanity. Can he prove his innocence before it's too late - or is there entirely something else going on? Written by myself and penciled by new artist Kevin Christensen, THE CHAIR is recommended for mature readers (language and some gore/violence) and clocks in at 136 B&W pages for a cover price of $13.95. This looks really good. Can't wait to check it out. It's very inspiring to see another creator decide to just do it all...write ,pencil, ink, and letter. (oops.....I guess you didn't draw it. No disrespect Mr. Christensen.) We're both in the same boat...hope you don't mind the company. I just hope my stuff comes out as good as yours. Kudos for sticking to your guns and seeing this thing through!!! Best of luck and much success to you sir. Although I did do a lot on the book, Kevin did a great job penciling so my hat goes off to him on that. as publisher at Alterna, I've been used to seeing other creators get their work picked up by Diamond and our book distributor, but to have my own book get picked up is just a whole 'nother feeling for me. definitely makes me happy to see it come this far - i just hope everyone enjoys it! -------------------- -Peter Simeti
