QUOTE (G-Man @ Jan 17 2009, 01:03 AM) *
For the record.....George Bush didn't "wreck" this nation in eight years....he did it in four...the second four. I voted for him both times. Thought he did a great job the first four years....right after he beat John Kerry four years ago....he must have gotten replaced by a Skrull.

I agree completely with Bill on this note. I think Bush did well the first term, but the second he fell to the pressure of the office and made some very wrong decisions. I too voted for him in both terms. That said, I am supportive of our current president and welcome the diversity. Time will tell, like with any new president, whether he will prove to do the right thing for the country.

As for women in comics, I agree. I love reading strong female characters and I think both Marvel and DC have done an excellent job in bringing them to the forefront. Birds of Prey and other books and characters at DC have done a great service to female characters, as did Marvel with Ms. Marvel, Spider Woman, et al. Good stuff.

Very cool I'll get to see all you guys at the sketch card event.

I so wish I could go to New York with you guys. I can't wait to hear, see and read all the coverage.

Great three-part round table, guys, I really enjoyed it.

I'm really in the same crowd, my friends. As a Republican, I supported Bush all the way. As for his second term, I honestly feel he got some truly bad advice from his people and did make bad calls. Save for the surge in Iraq, which was totally the right one. In the end, I honestly feel his legacy will be that after 9/11 he kept us safe. Something I don't think either Gore or Kerry would have been able to do.
But again, that's the past. Now its time for all of us to pull for President Obama and support him in every way we can. Out country deserves no less.

Hey, aside for this other stuff, I wanted to applaud John, Eric and Chuck for a great wrap up of CR's first round table podcast. All three of you did a bang up job and it was fun listening to your various thoughts and opinions on all these subjects. Well done.

Eric, if you go to the RSS feed (http://comicrelated.libsyn.com/rss) and scroll down about two-thirds of the way you'll find it. But for ease, here's both parts:

http://comicrelated.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=357385# (Part 1)
http://comicrelated.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=357684# (Part 2)

It's a great interview.

Love ya bill, I was holding off and teasing for a reason I swear!

Trust me, amigos, Eric and Russell were ALL over the bloody place pulling in every kind of guest interviewee you could possibly imagine.
Sitting to the right of all these, I was simply in awe of the people they snagged. Talk about working a show. Ha. Tip of the hat to these
guys, they did a great job. And Eric, I truly enjoyed meeting you and talking comics, although I was sadly unfamiliar with most of today's work. Your passion for it reminded very much of myself.

Ron in all honestly you have no idea how much our conversations this weekend meant to me. Your a mentor to me now in a lot of ways, its why I want your opinion on the hunter chronicles. cool.gif

It got to be a habit. We'd be sitting there and all these comic creators would come over and say, "Hi, someone named Eric sent us over."
Then we'd point them to Chuck or Russell. biggrin.gif Worked like a well-oiled machine.

You guys all did an amazing job. I've listened to two of the podcasts so far (loved the Bendis interview, Eric, and Bill (Love), I really enjoyed the Barbara Kesel one as well). Can't wait to listen to the latest and the forthcoming.

I wish I could have been there hanging out with you guys. One of these days.

Brian was a blast to talk too, I really don't know why my favorite interview was. I did too many to decide.

I'm just worried about the fraction interview and how much of a pain in the ass it's going to be to edit it.

Chuck,

Thanks for interviewing one of my favorite artists Sean Wang while you were at NYCC (first interview in podcast #70).

I have been a fan of RUNNERS for years, and he came across as a nice guy when I first met him. The art in the book is just really nice and the action and characters are great. It's a book I have heartily recommended time and again.

The DAVE School did a CGI cartoon of the first issue of RUNNERS, and that can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXC405pZxr0

His website is http://www.seanwang.com but as he mentioned in your interview, he will have Runners online too, and the site address for that has not been revealed just yet.

Scott

Listening to #74 right now, really enjoying it so far. Sky Pirates was a fellow competitor in Small Press Idol one year I was in it, so it was cool hearing about that. And Terrence Bernard's book, I picked up the ashcan at WW Chicago last year and really enjoyed it. Cool to hear there are now three issues out. I meant to review it, but it got misplaced over time. I'm gonna have to seek out the book now (Sophia's Awakening).

Chris Hebert's book Lazerman is carried by Haven, so I got a chance to review it and it's a fun, zany book. Ron Marz I loved at Crossgen, and of course his run on Green Lantern was memorable, and of course Witchblade. I have to admit I wasn't familiar with Ken Gale, though I had heard the name. But it was still a cool interview.

Then there's Sam Vera, of course, who gave me my first podcast interview on Catch Da Craze, so it was cool hearing the roles switched with him on the other end of the interview, and it was cool hearing about all his all-ages books and his success.

Great stuff, keep 'em comin'!
