So since we've got a section to ourselves here and won't have to clog up the main pages with all our topics I thought I we could throw this out there.

The ladies are always open to hearing new challenges. Things you've read, seen, done, that you think they might like.

Not all of the challenges will get accepted of course but we'd love to hear what you think we should try next, and really, how often do you get a chance to tell a girl what to do? wink.gif

Not sure if you're all up for this, but I'd love to hear your discourse of the movie Bubba Ho-Tep. I'd really like to hear each one of your thoughts on it.

I actually saw that when it came out. It was adorable. Not as good as his older stuff but it's classic Bruce Campbell. biggrin.gif

Something I would love to hear the ladies do is possibly compare and contrast original and remake projects such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Dawn of the Dead.

How about a marathon of Tim Burton movies, and put them in a top ten list?

I choose Spaced as well.

Also, considering the remake of "Fright Night" is coming out this year, I think it's only right that there should be a compare and contrast the original and remake as well. I remember the original being a lot of fun to watch and it's actually in my Netflix que to watch.

Steve Johnson did a making of documentary, specifically for youtube, where he discusses some of the effects for the original.

Personally, I am not looking forward to he remake AT ALL. For one, cannot stand Colin Farrell, and two, the lady behind the script was in charge of Buffy for the last seasons of the show, and the show subsequently began to suck hard during her tenure. Colin Farrell, to me, had the best possible start for an actor in a LONG time, and then he started acting like a jerk, being a terrible example for guys growing up ie his treatment of women, who he generally just knocks up and then moves on from, and then denouncing Irish women for not being like the bland women with single digit IQ's he messes around with.

I watched fright night when I was a kid, and it scared the hell outta me. The whole transformation sequences in the film were amazing, and hence why it scared the heck outta me (woke up in a cold sweat the next morning). Chris Sarandon made a great vampire, equal parts seductive and horrific, plus we know he could handle himself in a fight as demonstrated throughout the film.

I ca only imagine how horrible the remake will be with Farrell, who is far too well known as the jerk rather than the actor. I mean, that is the problem with people like Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell, and other actors who like to shove their faces into every single rag mag there is. Its why nobody will go and see a Jennifer Aniston movie, or an Angelina Jolie movie. Why people are becoming increasing unlikely to see a Tom Cruise movie ( in addition to his dirty dealings, such as alleged phone tapping, bullying, Scientology video and now, according to Paul Haggis, slavery for 50 bucks a week in addition to the whole Oprah incident). We hear so freaking much about them in the rag mags, that nobody wants to see the movie. On the other hand, actors who stary private are able to play the roles far better, because we can so easily see them as the characters.

Wait. Colin Farell is going to be in it? *checks out IMDB* Eh. Not a huge deal. I like the cast for the most part. Anton Yelchin as Charley Brewster is cool. His geek cred his raking up having been in Star Trek and a Terminator movie. I like Toni Collette a lot and she's playing Charley's mom. The dude who played Red Mist in "Kick-Ass" is in it which is nice and of course you got David Tennant as Peter Vincent which automatically makes this an instant watch for me.

This challenge is probably going to get me stabbed, revived and stabbed again but that's okay as I will join in on this challenge myself. I challenge the ladies to watch and do a quick review of the Catwoman movie. biggrin.gif

I will also watch it to be fair and email my thoughts. wink.gif

I enjoyed the challenge. I am a big fan of burton and I think the combination of Burton and Depp is perfect. Even though I didn't enjoy Alice in Wonderland I did like the direction and the look of the film. I do apologize that Batman and Big Fish were left off the list.
