I wanted to talk a little about several different projects and thought this would be the place to do so.
When I laid out my production plans for the up coming 36 months....it appeared I may have been a "little" too ambitious. So some things I wanted to ge done by a certain "ideal" time are moving along but moving along at a somewhat slower pace than I originally planned. More often than not things tend to bog down because I think I can do about 50 things at the same time and realistically seem only to be able to do about 12. Other times a creator I have planned to work with on a certain project changes his or her mind. And sometimes life just reminds you.....there's only 24 hours in a day. But as I continue to spin as many plates as possible I have managed to clear things off a few plates, while being in the process of doing more. Recently Finished: Concept art for the Tiki Samurai proposed animated series for adult swim. Proposal is in the wroks. Pin Up page for Dustin Carson's No Gods trade paperback due out later this year. The Book of Noheim is completed and on it's way to the printer. Thanks to everybody who helped make this such a great project (Chris Metzger, Oscar Pena, Kevin Hicks,Brant Fowler, Carey Kelley and of course Sean Collins) Nearing the Finish Line Gapo the Clown. Filling in for Tony Miello on his classic webcomics. Wrote and illustrated 8 strips which I believe will be appearing weekly on the Gapo the Clown website, the first should be up Friday June 12th. Four of these are done and in the can...two more illustrated but need lettering, and two more need to be started. This will not be the last time I will be involved with Gapo....or web comics in general. More news on that later. Working with the lettering on this has been really helpful and I have decided to change the lettering on a few of my other projects. Ravenwood Stepson of Mystery: "When Death Calls" After a hiatus that turned out to be longer than I intended I'm back on this project and writing nightly. Just started chapter five of what looks like will be a nine chapter short story featuring this pulp character and having a blast! Plan to have it done within the next two weeks. Life In Four Colors-the column celebrates it's one year anniversary this coming Friday June 12th and will be undergoing a slight revamp. Should be fun. Wicked Tales-this anthology of horror stories in comic form is still coming together fine despite a few artists playing musical chairs at the last moment. Chris Metzger has taken over the art chores for Dead Money ( a story written by Frank Raynor). Denial a story written by Raichal is going to be close to making the deadline thanks to an unexpected artist change as well. I really hope to still get this story in the book. Sean and I are very excited about adding a second story written by Ron Fortier to the book. Eternity's End-music c.d. Coming together great, should be done by October as planned. Major announcement about the c.d cover artist coming soon. Still on the Plate Pandemonium Chronicles #1-The Prodigy story will be getting re-lettered as will the re-print of the Jack the Rabbit comic (issue #1) which will also appear in the same book. The book will still include a four page of Necrotrancer Shades of Gray preview but at the moment it looks like when it comes time for the full Necrtrancer story Chris Metzger will be doing the art. Still hope to also include at least nine pages of the Rage For Order story drawn by Kevin Hicks. Still thinking late September on this. Cover will be illustrated and colored by Oscar Pena. True Horror @ Midnight-four short horror stories collected into one book. Just barely started this...still hope to get it done by late October to coincide the book's release with the Eternity's End c.d release. Jack the Rabbit Book One (of Four)-last four chapters still need typed. Chris will be working on the artwork for the ten chapter illustrations after he completes his work for Wicked Tales. Chris is also doing the cover art and Oscar will be coloring at least the cover and hopefully the chapter illustrations as well. Unfortunately this book has been pushed back to the very end of the year. Right Side Of Mind-It's an end of yet another era as work on Eternity's End winds down. I have already stopped playing live music at shows years ago...with last years release of the All Is Forgiven c.d I was done recording music and got rid of all the gear. With the lyrics I wrote for this new c.d.....I am announcing my retirement from song writing. Right Side of My Mind will collect all the lyrics I ever wrote (from 1981 to 2009) into one book and will hopefully be out by the end of the year as well. Answering a common question: At the moment I have no plans on doing a regular podcast of any kind. I truly appreicate the compliments and comments I have recieved concerning the link I recently posted to podcasts I have done in the past while still involved with Zonetrooper. If (and that's a big IF and not a when) I do decide to do some kind of podcast I would only do so if Frank Raynor was some how involved with it. I loved working with that guy on the past ones. That's it. You are now in the loop! Believe it or not, Ron, when I do sleep I still write. One of the songs on the Eternity's End c.d (Remember Everything) was written entirely in my sleep. Luckily I was able to "Remember Everything" and jot down the lyrics once I woke up.
