Take a misused or underused character and do it right. no elaborate stuff. a three hundred word synopsis would do.

I would have Mr. MYXLPYX and BatMite visit the Bizzaro home world where they are subjected to their own Bizzaros.
It could be a nice one shot. Lots of humor and sight gags.

I think a Victorian era, Steampunk Fantastic Four story would be pretty cool. A Steampunk Doctor Doom. I guess we got some of that in 1602, but a more focused story with Waid writing it would be awesome I think.

On the DC side, either a Medieval Green Arrow story with Dinah as the fair maiden type who can hold her own, or Roman Gladiator story featuring various characters engaged in super combat. Simple, but fun.

We sort of had a Steampunk Iron Man a few years back, Iron Man Noir. So I cannot say that.

So I am going to go with...The Spectre as a highway man, like Dick Turpin. Except he is a highway man by night, member of her majesty's finest by day. In many ways, I would imagine the character of the Spectre as similar to that movie 'Dr Syn alias The Scarecrow' starring Patrick McGoohan, only with more of a supernatural element.

My What-If would be during the Siege saga. After the fall of Asgard, Thor gets his keister handed to him by The Void, but instead of rallying with the other heroes, he takes off for a realm of light, begging for help from an unknown party. As the battle grows dire, Thor returns WITH THE ENTIRE GREEK PANTHEON in tow!

"OH Snap!" Moments:

- Zeus revives Ares, apologizing for limiting the god's power when he left Mt. Olympus.

- Thor channels a lightning blast from Zeus, the AMPED UP energy MORE THAN enough to shatter The Void entity.

- Ares gets sweet revenge, splitting a de-powered Bob Reynolds in half (JUSTICE!)

- Norman has a meltdown when Tony takes over his suit, but his back-up plan is a souped up Goblin suit (ala Spider-man The Movie), which he uses to wreck shop until the heroes bring him down.

- The Asgardians take up residence on Mt. Olympus

Man...that would've been fun!

My idea for an Elseworlds - and this is going to sound somewhat obvious:

"Alan Scott, Green Lantern of Sector 2814".

Imagine a WW2-era man being introduced to the concept that 1) alien life exists; 2) there is a science beyond his own understanding, as well as other aliens who wield that science, and that 3) Earth is not alone.

I've always wanted to write an alternate history - how would having a man who is essentially a "space cop with a magic ring" play out in WW2? The McCarthy era?

And don't say "It wouldn't" - having a magic ring carved from a lantern would seem more "likely" in that day and age. But mixing the two genres would be interesting, to say the least....

I have three "What If" tales all of which are written with my good friend and RaynMan co-host Frank Raynor....one is a Defenders story where after the Skrull Invasion...which the Earth lost...the Defenders (Dr. Strange, Namor, Hulk) unite once more in the far distant future to Fight For The Earth as Galactus and his herald, The Silver Surfer, arrive on Earth to put the planet "out of it's misery"

This story is written and is 64 pages long. Our plans were to release the story a page at a time as a fan fiction piece here on the Comic Related site but the artist we had for the piece fell through and the story remains in limbo for now.

The second story features Dr.Strange...and is actually a screen play for a Dr.Strange movie that Frank and I put together by never submitted. It features both Dr. Strange and Baron Mordo trapped as mental patients in an asylum ran by The Ancient One...(of course he doesn't go by that name in the "film")....also features Clea as a nurse in the same ward as Strange and Mordo....and one of the best scenes revolve around Strange and Mordo slinging tapioca pudding at each other in the cafeteria. Nightmare also reers his head before the story concludes.....seeing how this story will more than likely never see the light of day I'll let the cat out of the bag..we "borrow" a trick used in Batman Begins....The Ancient One isn't really the Ancient One at all...but Nightmare in disguise.

The last story features The Invaders as they team up with a special agent from he Canadian Secret Service by the name of Logan and the liberate Auschwitz....and they ending up saving the life of a young mutant who will one day grow up to be the villain known as Magneto...also features the Red Skull.....this one never came along as far as the Defenders story but we still have the notes stashed away somewhere.

Frank and I are huge "What If" fans and plan a "What If" themed episode of RaynMan in the very near future and actually discuss our favorite What If stories of all time on episode # 15 of the show...look it up true believers and give it a listen! You'll be glad you did!!

I kind of wish this had happend.

I really think Pak/Van Lente are writing the most underrated epic of the last decade at Marvel with Herc and his cast.

There's an arc in the first year of Exiles, I think it's #'s 9-12 where something very similar happens to this. Galactus comes to take the Earth after the skrulls flee in fear and it's up to that worlds version of the heroes to set things right.

Really fun story with beautiful Mike Mckone artwork that reading your premise reminded me of. cool.gif

I have never read a single issue of the Exiles (I'm sure that doesn't surprise anybody)...so I do not have a clue as to what happens in issues # 9-12. But whatever it was...I can assure you it's nothing like what Frank and I came up with for this story.

I am a fan of McKone's art....and Mike...if you just by chance happen to run across this post...and would like to draw a truly epic cosmic story explaining how it took the human race more than 1,000 years to free themselves from Skrull slavery...at a very terrible price.....if you want to draw one of the best stories to ever feature the characters Dr. Strange, The Hulk, Namor and the Silver Surfer.....just give Frank or I a call.

We'll be happen to work with you on this.

Hmmmmm.........now that would be a good "What If" story.

Hey wait a minute!!!!!! Frank and I ain't picky....if you can draw at all and want a crack at this thing.....just get in contact with us. People will talking about this story for years to come....who knows....might even open a few doors.

There we go. This is fun. I always wondered how it would turn out if a few of Spiderman's villians turned babyface (goodguy) and fought a common enemy like the skrulls or sentinels. Maybe a mirror/mirror world where everyone has a double that is opposite of what they are...
The heroes are villans and the villians are heroes. Of course the Watcher of this other world/demension would be the Meddler. Capt America would be the Ugly American the greedy self serving jingpist plunderer. Avengers would be the Revengers. The Bugle would revere A
theiving Spideman as a latterday Robin hood. Bipolar Bruce Banner would fight to stay the Hulk with an expotential intellegence that os so far up and beyond mans understanding--even Banner dors not fathom it when returned to normal............there's the gist a whole universe turned onto it's head in a nutshell.......................

What?

That made my head hurt.

And I know you don't read a lot of newer stuff but The Revengers is already in Marvel Comics, and they're really cool.
