It is confirmed that front man from the band Type O Negative, one of my favorite bands, died yesterday April 14th 2010.
The music of Type O has been very important to my creative process and directly responsible to the creation of the character Challis who appears in the Un-Naturals.

It is believed that Peter passed away of heart failure after several days of severe illness. He was 48 years old.

He will be missed.

More info can be found here.

I will be dedicating the first issue of the Un-Naturals to Peter's memory and his music.

What a horrible and tragic loss. I remember always arguing with my metal buddies how much I hated Type O Negative, but I always knew Peter was a bad ass. While I only came to really like 3 songs over the years this is a huge loss for the Metal and Music community, so hopefully he can get some respect on the Music networks as it is much deserved.

I've always been a big Type-O fan. One of the first bass lines I learned was Black #1, and to this day is still one of the first songs I'll play when I pick up a bass. I've always dug the way he seamlessly changed time in he songs and how he could make metal have feeling and grooves. Hopefully he'll leave as big f an impression on the world as he did on me. RIP Pete

While I was never a HUGE Type O Negative fan, I did enjoy their work and thought they were rather good. I am sorry to hear about Peter and my thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. May he rest in peace.
