QUOTE (ChadStrohl @ Oct 10 2009, 09:08 AM) *
Sounds like the plan is moving along. I'm curious to see Jef's work. Of all the times I talked to him, I don't think he ever mentioned writing or drawing.

You never asked man! Lol Jk, I taught cartooning for about 3 years, but other then that I really haven't done anything with it. I tend not to talk about things I'm thinking about or in the middle of. Just those things that are happening or in progress.

Flatworld is a newer idea that moved along very quickly and fits my art ability, Fallen Earth is a project that is being born out of years of research and theories. So other then a few friends I haven't talked to anyone about any of it.

Bill only knew because he was helping me hash out some ideas the other day, then he asked me to put it in the upcoming project and I told him I'd work on it some more. (Thanks Bill) I didn't know he was going to tell anyone Lol Or I still wouldn't be talking about it.

I didn't ask if you were a ninja, either... but, yeah, I didn't ask. rolleyes.gif

Concept looks good. I'm piqued with curiosity about the story, now.

Had a very cool three and half hour meeting over at the studio last night with fellow Twilight Star founders The Brothers Church (that being Gary and Derron as they like to be known collectively)

Unfortunately Frank was unable to attend....slacker.

The three of us ironed several details including what the name for Twilight Star anthology series will be (Stories From the Field) and talked about the future plans for everything coming out through the studio in the next year or so.

Here's a list of books in the works.

Stories From The Field (meaning Springfield Ohio of course). Set to be a quarterly ongoing , open ended anthology series.

Jack the Rabbit Limited Series-Three issue series with story and art for issue #1 and #2 by me. Issue #3 will feature two stories both written by by me but with art by Chris Metzger.

The Un-Naturals-ongoing series by myself and Derron "Dirt" Church.

Saga of the Neutron Gods-six issue limited series by the Brothers Church.

Prodigy-ongoing series. Story and art by myself.

WTF-annual summer time book. Will contain four (hopefully humorous) stories written by Frank and I with art from Gary and Derron, myself, and Chris Metzger. Possibly Scott Riley as well.

Blood Cross-written by Sean Woodruff and myself with art by me and Gary. Possible ongoing.

Necrotancer: Shades of Gray-one shot. Written by me....still looking for an interior artist.

Lost Somewhere in Time-an one shot that features three stories by me and drawn by Gary.

There is much more info on all of these books as well as the individual stories that will be appearing in the first four issues of Stories From the Field over at the official Twilight Star forum hub at the Necessary Cool website.

Here's a direct link.

No. I waiting for Dirt to turn in his pages so I can have them lettered. Gary is finishing up inking his pages and Scott is just now starting to do the art for Frank's story.....you're fine. (Espeically if you're as close to turning them in as you said). Oh yeah...we picked up a great cover artist who is just now starting to work on that as well.

Latest production meeting is this Weds. evening (Jan 20th)....I'll touch base with you seeing how you are the only one on the team who lives out of town.

Jef Price turned in his completed Flatworld story today for the Tales From The Field Anthology book still slated to debut in February. That's two out of five stories in that book that is now completed with the other three coming along nicely.

Flatworld is the first story in the book and I think Jef (who writes and draws this serial) knocked it out of the park for the very first submitted piece of work that he has ever done. Spent the afternoon shooting the breeze with him today....between the two of us we can easily talk for hours...and did.

This book is going to be amazing, trust me.

Sorry I haven't posted anything here in a while…uuuuhhhh….forgot my password….but I'm back now!

Meeting last night Weds. Jan 27th

Bill, Gary, Derron, and cover artist Richie Fritz in attendance.

This was the first time I met Richie. Man he's a really cool guy and really talented! Very excited to have him working on the cover for Tales From the Field #1. Gonna look great!. We went over cover concepts. Issue #1 will have a wrap around cover.

Richie and I hit it off so well, we agreed to work together for a five page story for issue two of the book which may be called "Shadow Of Another Man."

Production of the book is coming along even better than I thought. It looks like we are on schedule and the book will still be out middle to late Febuary and be available at Cosmic Comic Con in Urbana Ohio Sunday March 14th. which Twilight Star will be having a table at.

Went over the official logo that will appear on all Twilight Star books.

Looked over the first five pages of the book which is Jef's first "Flatworld" story. Jef's already turned this in, completed and lettered. I loved this stuff from day one. The other guys really liked it as well. They were very impressed. Richie even compared Jef's artwork to Vaughn Bode….not a shabby compliment. My good friend Darrell Buffington was a big fan f Bode.

Derron turned in his artwork for Legacy" it has been scanned and will be on the way to the letterer later tonight.

"A Matter of Life and Death" a story by me with art from Gary and Deroon is ready to go as well.

Gary's five page story for the first "G-Code" story is currently in the inking phase and looks very good.

The last story "Business as Usual" a two pager by Frank Raynor with art by Scott Riley is the last thing that we will be waiting for, Scott has been busy with things at the store but hopefully the art for this will be started soon.

Other news…we have a very Special Announcement to make. Did Somebody Call For A Hero will become a Twilight Star book! We all agreed to a propasl from book creator/writer/and artist Chad Strohl. Chad will be writing and partially illustrating this new series with additional artwork from "Mannie" Abeleda. Chad hopes to have the first issue out before the March 14th show as well.

Progress continues on the Un-Naturals ongoing series with me writing and inking that. Derron is doing the pencils. The cover is completed and turned in by artist Brian Typhair and I should soon be inking the first four pages.

That's it for now.

More updates to come

Twilight Star

Hell Yeah!
