Hmmm... so many possibilities....

Old school types: Dick Giordano, Butch Guice, Jim Shooter, John Byrne, etc.

Superstar standbys: Jae Lee, Marc Silvestri, Michael Lark, etc.

New school: Paul Pope, Gabriel Ba, Steven Niles, etc.

Just some ideas... : )

I'd like to see Kevin Melon or Jon Malin interviewed (fyi-they are on my friends list on myspace). Both up and coming artist, with a lot of talent. Just my pennies worth.

Those upcoming issues sound awesome, hopefully those YESes will also come through, as they will be interesting.

I think a Women of Comics issue would be cool, Maybe have the entire issue focussed on women in the industry, say have a woman artist give advice on pencilling or inking, another woman give advice on writing, and so forth. It's easy to forget that there are women working in the industry, and it would also help to get other up and coming female artists and writers interested in comic books as an art form. The medium would become stale if there were not women writers and artists working in the industry. Both genders need to be catered to, I feel.

You should definitely get in touch with Afua Richardson (drawing "genius" for topcow) The girls work is simply amazing. She used to draw erotica in sizzle magazine and did a story in image comics robot anthology "24/7"

Would also love to see interviews from
Celia Calle - another amazing artist.
Renae De Liz - IDW's "Rogue Angel" artist

and if you can :)
Fiona Avery, Amanda Conner, Nicola Scott, Rachel Dodson, Jan Duursema, Robin Furth (lives somewhere near me apparently), Devin Grayson, Sandra Hope, Pia Guerra, Sandra Hope, Laura Martin, Adriana Melo, Sonia Oback (you said you already had Mike Choi :) ), Leah Moore, Gail Simone, Christina Z.

My kids love that Sonic the Hedgehog book.

Didn't Ranae post around here a little while back?

Afua Richardson and I are pretty close. I can ask her next time I speak to her if you'd like.
She also did the awesome cover to my OGN "Half Dead".

The back cover was by an animator friend of hers called Chuck Collins.

Another guy I would love to see you do an interview with is Jeffrey 'Chamba' Cruz. The Udon/capcom stuff he has been doing recently is amazing.

One of my old favorites who's still around would be Richard Corben. In my opinion he is an awesome artist. For anyone not familiar with Richards work I think he's most famous for his work on Den in Heavy Metal Magazine. Last recent work I saw of Richards was in Conan the Barbarian last year. An interview with him would be awesome. Cary Nord would be another good one as well. Barry Windsor Smith, Richard Isanove, Mike Mignola, Joe Jusko, better stop I could go on forever. Another I wanted to throw in would be Edward Luena although not as well known as these others he's an accomplished artist who's spanned many different formats(traditional, manga, and I think currently in animation) One of my old favorites of his was Crow of the Bear Clan back in the 80's a six issue series by Blackthorne Publishing. Ringtail Cafe would probably like it since it involves a world of biped animals ranging from rabbits, bears, lizards to Rhinos in a world of Sci-Fi and sorcery.

Wow, Casey! Where did you dig up this old thread? Since these interviews can be done for the podcast now, you're right on time!

All would be great interviews.

Sadly Dick Giordano is no longer an option as an interview. sad.gif

Joe Jusko and I have talked about him sharing some of his step-by-steps that he's shown on Deviant Art in Sketch. He'd probably be up for a podcast interview. The others, some yes, some probably not. We'll see. Thanks for the suggestions.

Heh heh...my thoughts exactly. I would've loved an interview with John Buscema(bows head in sadness)but he has long since passed. Luckily though I have how to draw comics the Marvel way on video and book editions to console me..not to mention tons of his published works in Savage Sword of Conan and Conan the Barbarian.
