Listening to the latest now.

Man, Chuck, you still sound under the weather. I hope you and Katie are feeling better.

As for BSG, it starts at 9 Friday and is two hours long. And it's the day before my birthday! smile.gif

Speaking of BSG, they are going forward with the prequel series Caprica, and what I hear of it is good.

Witch Mountain looks good from the previews. I love Dwayne Johnson as an actor (and he was my favorite wrestler), so maybe I'm a bit biased. He has done some crappy films, but he's done some really good ones also. Don't know if I'll see it in the theaters, but I will see it.

Very cool about the soon-to-be expanded film section. As you may know I used to do SBC Reel when I was at SBC, and it was always the hope to expand that into an entire section, so I'm all over this.

Very cool about the webcomics. I noticed the Ape one recently, but didn't know about Top Shelf's. Pretty cool, I'll have to check it out.

Oh wow, I love how the figure is grayscaled with a splash of red. Nice.

Another great recap. You and John are doing a great job with these.

Great Podcast, John.

I really enjoyed the Kirby videos you posted on the Sketch Magazine page.

John does a great job on the podcasts. I'm anxious to try out the Deleter pens he talked about, I might have to pick some up at the Comics for Cures event.
I'll also have to see what's going on at Blackline Comics.

I'm intrigued by the pens as well (and John, just a tip, there's a button on Deleter's site on the top "English" that will magically change all that Japanese into English! wink.gif ). Another great recap, John, you're really falling into step with these each and every week.

John.

These things get better with each one you do.

Some feedback.

Back-up features in D.C comics....I kind of like that idea. It feels very much like the "old D.C." and I think it's a great way to keep characters that recently lost their own books (Manhunter, Blue Beatle, Black Canary?....did they cancel Green Arrow/Black Canary?) in the spotlight. I also think it will help the sales of the books these features appear in. When I was .....a kid....I used to buy Flash comics (specifically Flash #289-#299) just to read the Firstorm back up story which was the only way for me to read Firestorm stories at the time...his original title was cancelled at issue #5. The stories also featureed artwork from two of my all time favorite artists...George Perez and Jim Starlin. Firestorm did not appear in Flash #300 which was a double sized issue, but I bought it anyway so I could see how the story which started in issue #299 concluded. Flash #300 to this day is my favorite Flash story (well except for Crisis on Infinite Earths #6).

The Firestorm back up was so popular the character soon joined the Justice League, the Superfriends, and got his own ongoing series again.

Marvel/Screenwriters-I think "if" you can get in the door with this ....this is only a win, no lose. I mean you're writing a movie script for already established comic characters. It makes sense that Marvel retains ownership of the material. The only way you lose on this is if you create new characters for the story in the movie, which hopefully nobody does. Stick with the source material....no new characters needed or WANTED for that matter.

Seth Rogan-if you haven't seen any of his material yet....you missed nothing at all. The guy couldn't act like he was asleep to save his life.

Cage as a Bat-Villian-I like Nick Cage. Don't want to see him anywhere near the next Bat-Film unless he's line to watch it like the rest of us.

Wizard-I know that's just "your opinion", but I have to agree with you 100%. Wizard is a wreck...and actually a dinosaur considering the news you get from the magazine is three months old and all over the internet by the time you get the latest issue. I of course don't like hearing about anybody losing jobs. I didn't want to lose mine, but when it happened...I wasn't surprised. My company had no clue how to do what they once excelled at any longer. The customer base had chnaged and we ignored those changes. I think Wizard is in that same boat.

Spider-Man the Musical-Swiss Miss? Really? I think I can become a screen writer at Marvel after all.

Hi John,
Really another wonderful 10 minute recap. I really enjoy these. And for you future references, the Lone Ranger was the Green Hornet's
grand uncle, not grandfather. The Lone Ranger was John Reid, his older brother killed in the Cavendish Gang ambush, was Dan Reid.
He left a son, Dan Reid Jr. who, in the radio melodramas would often spend a few weeks of the summer with Uncle Lone Ranger and Tonto.
When Dan grew up, he became a newspaper publisher in Detroit, the paper was called the Sentinel. He married and had a son whom they named Britt Reid. Britt grew up to take over the paper from his father, and then became the Green Hornet.

Awesome!

You the Man, now Dawg! (sorry....just happens to be one of my favorite Sean Connery quotes)

Ahem. Loved the history lesson, Ron. Until John mentioned it I forgot there was a connection between these two classic characters.

Now if I could just forget Seth rogan is playing Green Hornet!!!! huh.gif

Bill

Thanks for all the great feedback. I don't know much more about the backup features than what I casted although they are mentioned in the editor's page in some of this week's DC books.

I haven't listened to the Re-Cap yet, but did watch the video that was attached.

Good stuff, always liked this song and it reminded me...it is Easter. I need to watch Donnie Darko.

I'll be back for the full Re-Cap in a couple of hours.

What's funny about that particular song is that Crazz had listed that as one he'd like to include on our show sometime. Odd coincidence. Great song.

The tragedies spoken of in the episode of course were saddening and my thoughts and prayers go out to those families.

I honestly fell in love with that song, enough to buy both versions on Itunes. Not to mention that it's definitely on the top 10 favorite movies of all time for me. cool.gif

Megan fox is definitely not right for she-hulk though. I'd rather see her as cassie hack.

Why is there a freddy remake in the first place? There can be only 1 freddy and that's Robert Englund. Any traditional horror fan can tell you that, he is that role.

Oh and Angelina Jolie is the reason that sin city 2 has been delayed for so long in the first place, much rather not have her involved at all. If we hadn't been this delayed with the movie, we might not have had to suffer through The Spirit.

Oh and all for a Buffy movie if we get the full supporting cast back. Not to mention Seth Green as Oz and Spike/Angel all back in the ring under the same movie. smile.gif

That's my rant and looking forward to the chance of actually getting to listen to it tomorrow.

Good show John.

I have to mirror Eric's comments on a couple of things.

Megan Fox as She-Hulk. No thank you.

New Freddy Kruger/Nightmare films. Why?

Other than that...hey I didn't suffer through the Spirit. Loved the movie can't wait to get it on D.V.D. And as far as Sin City 2 goes...if I have to wait to get Angelina in "Dame To Kill For". I'll wait. I'd love to see that.

And just throwwing this out there...........I liked the Phantom movie Billy Zane and Kristy Swanson...which speaking of Kristy Swanson...she was the only Buffy I ever cared for and that is the only Buffy movie I'm interested in.

That Johnny Quest news was a little strange. don't like the sound of that.

ohmy.gif Bill I am absolutely shocked that your not a fan of Buffy, well the tv show. Not big on joss I take it?

Sarah is easily lovable, Freddie Prince Jr is a very lucky guy. She actually appeared for a milasec in Dr. Horrible apparently.

You guessed it. With the exception of Firefly and Serinity not much of a Joss guy.....I watched a couple of episodes of Dollhouse but lost interest after week two.

I like a lot of the stuff I've seen with Sarah other than her Buffy stuff (believe it or not I liked the Scooby Doo movies and the first I Know What You Did Last Summer flick)

And yep....the Freddie Prinze Jr. is indeed one lucky fellow...I mean c'mon....what guy in their right mind wouldn't want to play Fred Jones in not ONE but TWO live action Scooby films!!!!

Lucky dog. wink.gif
