![]() It seems that D.C. is already in the planning stages to launch a new animated series that will feature the group Young Justice. According to some reports they are already casting voice actors. Young Justice was a great comic. I used to read these books to my daughter when she was younger until she started to be able to read on her own and she didn't wait for me any longer. She has every issue of the series , every tie in, and even met and had a lengthy conversation with Peter David the man who wrote 99% of that stuff and Todd DeZago the man who came up with the idea for the book. She has followed the members that made up that team ever since. But Raichal and other Young Justice fans may be stunned to learn the cast of the show is different than the book. There's no mention of Robin or Wonder Girl (although Nightwing is listed in the cast). Connor Kent is only called Connor...not Superboy...and Impulse is there...but so is Aqualad and Ms, Martian? They were never members. One of Raichal's favorite characters (mine too) was Arrowette...she is supposed to be in the show. But Secret will not be (her story is a little too dark for a cartoon series for kids I suppose). I hope this comes about....I would love to see this happen even with the changes...and this time around I can share the Young Justice magic with my grand daughter (who has already followed Raichal's lead and is a Darkwing Duck fan!) Okay, never read this book, but just names alone did clue me on the characters. Whereas the show has a MS MARTIAN??? Now just who the hell is that suppose to be? The Martian Manhunter's daughter, niece, sidekick. Huh?
Of course, if WB animation does, I'm there. |

She's adorable, wholesome and really easy to love. The big twist though: She's a white martian. I can put together some suggestive reading for you at a later time Ron if your interested. She also of course has similar powers to MM. -------------------- |

Egads, a white Martian. Don't tell me we're going to follow up the Green Lantern rainbow megaplex with one on the Martian next. I can see it now, the Red Martian, the Blue Martian, the Gold Martian....

You're just out of the loop, old friend! the White Martians have been around at least since 1999ish; they were the first villains used by Grant Morrison in his "Big Seven" JLA revamp, and have appeared a few times since. They were apparently the affluent and abusive upper crust of Martian society, who used the green ones for manual labor and abandoned them on a dying world. Their closest corollary for older readers are probably Skrulls: shapeshifters with no real home planet who operate in ways both obvious and hidden to make themselves the dominant race of other worlds.

By the way, I wrote this yesterday on 'Rama:
Young Justice League Animated Series on the Horizon? February 2nd, 2010 Author Russ Burlingame DC fans who have wondered for years if we’d ever see Young Justice again can take a little solace from this report on Rich Johnston’s Bleeding Cool site. In a nutshell, actress Stephanie Lemelin blogged that she’s voicing Arrowette in an upcoming “Saturday morning cartoon” called Young Justice League. Along with an image of the character (seen here) that she claimed was concept art for the series, Lemelin said that “Due to the extreme popularity of this series, however, that’s about all I can say,” which apparently was more than she should have because the link provided in Johnston’s story leads nowhere, and there’s no mention of the entry or the series anywhere else on Lemelin’s blog. Bleeding Cool, of course, deals pretty regularly in gossip and off-the-record stuff, so they had the foresight to archive the material, probably knowing full well that it wouldn’t be allowed to stay online very long. A second, unattributed source told Johnston that the team will be made up of Arrowette, Martian Girl, Aqualad, Nightwing, Impulse, and Superboy/Kon-El. Lemelin has some interesting projects coming up, according to IMDB, but what we’ve seen so far makes her a perfectly reasonable choice for an animated spin-off of a comic; she has experience in the direct-to-video Kung-Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five, based on the feature film starring Jack Black, and starred in several episodes of the Cavemen TV series based on the series of popular Geico commercials. |

I don;t like any of DC's current Toons on TV, I really wish they would return to the shows that many of us still want, you know, the good shows from the late 90's the won them awards. Batman, Suerman, JLA, BB, Give us a return to REAL superhero cartoons, not more of this crap. Have you seen the preview art? That and the talks about this show make it look like Brave and the Bold. Ugh.
The Same goes for Marvel, what happened to goo cartoons? I can enjoy the new Iron Man, but would rather have another XMen -------------------- |

While I love the DC Feature animated films and some of the brave and the bold, I don't think that I will enjoy this as much. I kind of miss the old Justice League and JLU episodes, but most of all I miss the style that was used in the original 90's Batman animated series.

Might have been. Maybe they broke it into two for the first couple of episodes. I don't remember.

Yup, Bill is right, Brant. I was a bit bummed out when I realize it was a repeat of the pilot, still watched it, as its that good. And they run the second part next week, so its another two weeks before we see a new episode. Damn.

the new episodes don't start until the 21st.
I hate to say it but with the track record of Brave and the bold and JLU, don't expect Joung Justice to last long. Someone at Cartoon network hates superheroes. -------------------- |

Thumbs up to Young Justice. It's a great show and I'm really enjoying it to the max. New Thundercats do look to be fun too, don't they.

I remembered to catch this last night and liked it a great deal. Very impressive. Still mad at myself because I missed last week's show.
