Just got off the phone with Mr. Chris Hoskins....inker extrodanaire. He's looked over the material and is twice as excited about the project then he was before.

To use a couple of his comments "Love the idea. Think it's pretty original. And the attention for detail really hooked me."

That being said, plus he now knows the "identities" of the two artists we are in talks with...I' m very happy to say Hoskins...a.k.a flapjac..is no longer 99.9% committed to Price for the Asking but he's in for the whole 110%

Also...Ron started a thread in his forum that talks a little more about the story and some of the characters...if you're tired of hearing me rave about the creative team on this thing...you might want to check it out and see what the story is like as it takes place.

Between us, Bill, we'll beat the drums loud and long until everyone here is sick of us. biggrin.gif Honestly, I think the artists you lined up are amazing and they are really going to put this project over the top. Looks to be a wild ride.

I can't wait until we get to find out whom these mysterious artists are and which one will be "The" artist for the strip.

Not sure there will be just one...right now I'm hoping that we nab two that we can rotate out every other story arc. The two Ron and I want have a very similiar style and with Hoskins inking both it should look pretty damn consistent.

We got our artist! We only managed to pick one of the two that he wanted BUT let me tell you...this guy is an incredible talent and man, Ron and I are thrilled to have him aboard. Watch for an official announcement sometime in the near future and I'll share a link that will allow you check out this guy's artwork.

With the addition of this last member...team "Price" is complete. And like I said our penciller fits in perfectly with the talent already assembled for this project.

We are still looking for a second artist. Ron and I would very much like to rotate artists out as story arcs change....so if you have an interest in drawing a web comic just let us know.

Okay everybody..I am very proud to announce the entire creative team for the newest Comic Related weekly web comic

"Price for the Asking"!!!!

Bill Gladman and Ron Fortier: co-creators and co-writers.
Brain Latimer-penciler
Chris Hoskins-inks
Brant Fowler-Letters

LOVE THIS TEAM!!!!!!

For those of you not overly familiar with Brian's amazing artwork (yet) here's a link to the gallery he has posted on his Deviant Art page.

http://brianlatimer.deviantart.com/gallery/

Brian and I met a few months ago during my first visit to Studio Akumakaze. He's an associate of BJay's and Hoskins. They actually met Brian by a referral by....Dave Arhar of Penny Dreadful Press while Brian was attending Mid-Ohio Con this past November. I loved with Brian's work the moment I first saw his portfollio and immediately knew I wanted to work with him on a future project.

We had actually talked about doing a limited series together featuring a super-hero that the two of us co-created, and hopefully that project will still come together down the road but right now I'm estatic about having him join this team of creative talent.

Brian is working on a project at the moment and will be doing character designs as he makes the time in the near future. I'll let you in on more details as the come together.

Hot dog, Cary. I was hoping one of my CR brothers would know Ed personally. Look, amigo, you have to invite him to join CR and get in on the fun with the rest of us. I'll do the same.

I've been reading Ed's tweets and I agree he's a great guy and I haven't even interacted with him personally yet.

Ron, just looked at some of Ed's work, pretty amazing! Great job finding this guy. I think his art style will really compliment Brian's and it should be something that Hoskins will really enjoy inking.

This thing keeps getting better all the time.

Here it is! The song that started everything. The very first in the several steps taken to get us where we are currently with "Price for the Asking" the upcoming Comic Related web comic by Gladman, Fortier, Latimer, McKeogh, Hoskins, and Fowler.

The song is "The Price" by the band Twisted Sister

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLHdP4dkdkQ

Now you get to play detective.....how many clues can you find about the strip in one simple music video?

Anybody who knows me at all also knows I see comics and music as just different types of story telling and I have a great love for both. Everything I write....and draw...is entrenched with music somehow and this strip is no exception.

Latest update on the strip is this.

The scripts for the first six weeks are completed and strips seven through twelve are plotted. I will take some time soon to finish them off and send them Ron's way to get his thoughts. Brain Latimer is the artist on the first story arc "Yesterday's Burning" named after one of my own songs. Brian's schedule has recently changed to free up more time for him. He will soon be doing character sketches shortly after he finishes another assignment and we will be posting those along with concepts for some of the locations involved in the strip as we get them.

Artist Ed McKeogh will handling the art chores on the second story arc which will feature Ron as the main writer. Ed is an incredible talent and we're very glad to have him aboard as the last member of "Team Pryce". Ed is currently working on character designs as well...but has been sidelined recently with the flu. As soon as we get something from Ed we will make sure to post it as well. I have no idea how long Ron's story will run at the moment. Between the first two story arcs the strip will be set for at least six months, with around 24-28 weeks worth a material. Add a little concept art and you already have enough material for the first "Price for the Asking" comic book! I wouldn't be surprised if Price for the Asking #1 is ready by the end of the year and available at the Comic Related table or the Studio Akumakaze table (or both!) at Mid-Ohio Con 2010!!!

Ron and I have already talked a little about the third story arc which looks to be one where He and I co-write....switching off somewhere within the story.

Price for the Asking is still very much on schedule and everything still looks good for a March launch here on Comic Related!!!

Yep, he was in one of the Small Press Idol competitions with me, and I've had some exchanges with him, even interviewed him once I think. Good guy, I agree. And talented.

Windows 7 cool! My parents just got that as well. I love the feature that lets your desktop background change.

Glad to hear the comic is on track. Looking forward to seeing some character designs. smile.gif
