![]() How do you make an already exciting lineup, like the one we’ve got at the Dallas Comic Con this May 21-22, even more exciting? The guest list already includes Stan Lee (the creator of SPIDER-MAN), Leonard Nimoy (of classic STAR TREK fame), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia herself), Laurie Holden (star of THE WALKING DEAD television series), Ethan Van Sciver (smoking hot GREEN LANTERN artist), Steve Niles (creator of 30 DAYS OF NIGHT), Bernie Wrightson (co-creator of SWAMP THING), Jimmy Palmiotti (co-creator of PAINKILLER JANE), Amanda Conner (smoking hot POWER GIRL artist), and so many more. I mean seriously, how do you top that killer list??? You add John Romita Jr. to it. The prolific artist is already a legend in the industry, and within the last year has experienced a new level of fame thanks to the big screen adaptation of his comic book KICK-ASS. John rarely makes appearances, but will be signing at the show both days, making this convention a “can’t miss” event. The looks to be the most incredible show Dallas has ever seen. More info on the Dallas Comic Con HERE. We’re so very pleased to announce the addition of legendary Marvel artist John Romita Jr. to the Dallas Comic Con. The son of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN artist John Romita, his first American comic book work was (fittingly) in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #11 in 1977. John became a star with his art on IRON MAN in the late 1970′s, working side by side with David Michelinie and Bob Layton. In the early 80′s, he followed in the footsteps of his father as a regular artist on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, where he co-created Hobgoblin. Following his Spidey work, Jr. moved over to UNCANNY X-MEN, where he turned in three years of incredible issues working with X-writer extraordinaire Chris Claremont. Moving into the 90′s, Romita began a healthy run on DAREDEVIL, where he helped co-create Typhoid Mary, and was masterfully inked by Al Williamson. His other notable work includes DAREDEVIL: THE MAN WITHOUT FEAR (written by Frank Miller), PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, the original CABLE mini-series, THE MIGHTY THOR, a return to IRON MAN, WOLVERINE, BLACK PANTHER, THE SENTRY, WORLD WAR HULK and THE ETERNALS (where he collaborated with Neil Gaiman). He’s also turned in creator-owned projects like GRAY AREA and the wildly popular KICK-ASS (which he co-created with Mark Millar). His current project is THE AVENGERS, just in time for the gigantic Marvel film. Known by many in the industry as JRJR, we are honored to host a rare appearance of the popular creator, an effort that has been in the works for years… some things are worth the wait. -------------------- |
