Art of Tim Bradstreet Options

Following Brian Bolland, P. Craig Russell, Joe Jusko, and Michael Wm. Kaluta in the art book series will be esteemed and popular comic book artist, Tim Bradstreet. We're currently looking at a July 2008 release date for this title. I hope you're as excited about this edition as we are. Tim is not only one of the great artists in the industry today, but one of its great gentlemen as well.

Now what we would like to know, following these great artists, who else would you deem worthy? Who else would you like to see get the Desperado treatment?

Fantastic!!! I have his Maximum Black art book and the pages are practically falling out because I've looked through it so many times. The only negative is that I have to wait until July to get this new one

As far as other artists, an Art of Barry Windsor-Smith book would make me one happy guy.

As far as other artists, an Art of Barry Windsor-Smith book would make me one happy guy.

Barry Windsor-Smith is one of my all time favorite artists! The problem with doing a book on Barry though is that he did TWO books (OPUS and OPUS II) through Fantagraphics a few years back. I'm not sure what else I could do or add to make it worth doing another volume so close to the previous two.

Good taste in your suggestion though!

Tim Truman and Travis Charest aren't bad suggestions at all! I also wouldn't mind seeing a book on Moebius, but I know art books have been done before (primarily French language ones).

I can think of quite a few, actually...... Paul Chadwick, Craig Hamilton, another Bernie Wrightson book (it's been awhile since A Look Back ), Rick Geary, Sergio Aragones.

The only reasons I haven't mentioned Charles Vess, Gary Gianni, and Mark Schultz is that all 3 have some upcoming books.

So.....the one artist that I think is way overdue for a comprehensive art book above all others?

Your wish is coming to fruition as I write this. The publisher is John Flesk and it is supposed to be ready for release late this summer or early fall the last time I looked. The focus will be on Stout's paleontological and other wildlife art.
I have to say Flesk's books are gorgeous (the latest is on the work of Steve Rude).
Between Desperado, John Flesk and Spectrum/Underwood these are the glory days of the illustrative arts!
And for the older illustrators from the golden age you have to check out the folios put out by Jim Vadeboncoeur titled "IMAGES", which is up to it's 8th volume with three addition volumes focusing on line art alone.

Now, the guy I'd like to Desperado cover (not at all dismissing your suggestions, which are great) is Mike Mignola. Not just his Hellboy and BPRD characters but a full retrospective.

And when is someone going to give Stephen Hickman some respect? One, thin volume 20 years ago is just a drop in the bucket.

And John Buscema, Joe Kubert and Gil Kane, when is someone going to give these giants a nice, big, 200 pages+, hardcover retrospective, and not just of their superhero work?

I could go on but see no point at this time. It's great just to see what coming.

Hey all, and thanks kindly for the nice welcome.
I think everyone is going to get a tremendous kick out of the new book, the sequel to Maximum Black.
Right now Joe and I are over 300 pages for this retrospective.

I´m from Spain and I fear that this treasure arrives with some sort of damage
