BRITNEY SPEARS BIOGRAPHY COMIC BOOK IN STORES TODAY
With a new album, Femme Fatale, and an upcoming high profile tour, pop diva Britney Spears can also be found on the shelves of the local comic book shop with today’s release of the Bluewater biography comic “Fame: Britney Spears.” The 32-page bio title covers most of the public spectacle a casual reader might expect.—her meteoric rise to superstardom and her harrowing difficulties stemming from her private life. However, the book looks to delve beyond the salacious headlines. “She is far more complicated than most people realize. No matter what preconceptions you have about her, there will always be more layers and surprises,” said issue author Patrick McCray. “Beyond the performer, there is a real human being there, struggling for a real life, struggling to connect with her art, and struggling to be understood.” According to publisher Darren G. Davis, Spears’ life reflects the core of what the “Fame” line of biography titles tries to achieve. “She was created in the Internet Age to be put on a pedestal, but no one can stand the glaring lights of celebrity that intensely. The title seeks to find the person within.” The title, written by McCray, was penciled by Ricardo Jaime who also provided the cover art. The issue will retail for $3.99 and be available through most online venues like Amazon.com as well as local comic book stores. This new limited series, written by Adam Gragg and illustrated by Gregg Paulsen, follows the exploits of an ethically-challenged, take-no-prisoners entertainment reporter as she exposes the secret underbelly of the Los Angeles superhero community. You can also order it online at place like Midtown Comics by clicking here: http://bit.ly/iU61jy Bluewater launched the “Fame” series earlier in 2010 as a companion piece to the successful “Female Force” and “Political Power” biography titles. The comic allows Bluewater to delve into the celebrity culture and understand how a person rises to fame, deals with the new-found celebrity and continue to produce in the public eye. That includes actors, sports figures, recording artists and royals; notable personalities that would be precluded from Bluewater’s other politically-oriented biography titles. The Bluewater biography comic books have been featured on the TODAY Show, CNN, ABC World News Tonight, People Magazine, The Los Angeles Times and 1,000's of other sources. ![]() -------------------- |

Amy is just sitting there patiently waiting for this to come in. All I can say is I am thankful for my books coming in the mail so I don't have to go pick this up at the shop

Is there going to be an X-rated version?

Is there going to be an X-rated version? Is this the actual Britney Spears, or a dance double that she hired instead, like her current video. And considering that her 'life story' was a complete lie, with her mom telling the real story a few years back, I sincerely doubt this will be any bit believable. That said, I saw a review of the Lady Gaga comic book a few months back, and...jesus, was it bad. I mean, the art was amateurish and lame, the storyline creepy, and essentially the entire plot was about a guy who wanted to be Lady Gaga. And there wasn't a Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis, or Alan Moore in the credits. |

Thing is these Blue Water bios of living personalities tend to such to high heaven, whereas their comedy legend titles are amazingly good. There's one on Lucille Ball and another on George Carlin on the way that are truly worth picking up.

I'm actually editing the series on comedy legends, and the first three have been excellent. Even the artwork is pretty amazing. Hopefully we can raise the bar on the quality of these biography titles a little. Technically it can only go up.
