Dude that Frankenstein is bad ass! I just got caught up on the thread and gotta give much love to the Iron Fist and MAn Thing as well! Nicely done sir!

The Briefer Frankenstein was a lot of fun, a cool and wonky comic. I'm working on a Ms Marvel right now!

I've been "studying" a lot of Ebas and Milo Manara work lately in an attempt to get my women a bit sexier. Played around a bit with my style on this quick marker sketchcover piece.

Take 2 on an X-23 sketchcover, this time in my more normal style.

Dude, while I'm all about studying to get better, there's nothing wrong with the way you draw women! They are already sexy!

I'm more just trying to see if there are way to get my "me" style to be a bit more commercial while still keeping it "me." I can mimic anyone out there, but this new stuff is me just doing me for the first time in since the 90s. It's been fun, but I do realize that my work is a bit too 80s to be sellable in the current market.

Oh, and thanks!

Here are some of the sketch cards I did for the Walking Dead Comic Series trading card set for Cryptozoic. Good times!

If anyone is interest, I've still got a couple of the AP cards left.

I know what you mean about evolving. Too many artists make that mistake, and sadly get left behind in the new medium. I know there are alot of writers and artists whom I admire who never got out of the quagmire of their old style, and instead, got left behind by the industry. Norm Breyfogle is one artist who could not get arrested for quite a long time, despite the massive fan following he had when drawing Batman. He did evolve his style, and repaired some relationships he had lost, but he could not get hired for years.

IT's only a decade or more later that he has gotten work with DC again.

I'm really enjoying these. The Kirby crackle always gets me.

Just an aside, is Captain Mar Vell the only hero who may actually STAY dead?

Just finished ElfSong piece. This is going to be the cover to a new ElfSong story I'm working on. I've started doing roughs on my Cintiq and then will print out onto bristol board for finishing/inking. I'm really enjoying the new process.

Another batch of sketchcard previews, this time from the upcoming Marvel Comics Bronze Age trading card set. This is my favorite period for Marvel - 1970-1985!

The final versions will all have marker coloring, but I prefer the black and white work.

I love this.

Your style and Elf art are like cookies and cream. They just go so well together!

Congrats on the card set.

Thanks, G. Elfquest was a first love of mine, so it's always cool to go back and play around in that style.

A recent cover recreation, this time starring the Third Doctor and friends on my version of the cover to Uncanny X-men 141. This piece is 11x17 and I loved working on art with the lettering already done on it.

That's fantastic Mat!

Helps that I'm a big fan of the third Doctor. wink.gif

Thanks, G!

He fit because he was the only really physical Doctor - he was their "Wolverine" and fit for the piece. K9 is just there because I wanted to draw him.
