Manga Studio Debut is just $5 today.
It's regularly $49.99. And just in case you're some cave person that thinks this is only for drawing Japanese style comics, wrong! Here's Dave Gibbons to illustrate how wrong you are. It was originally called Comic Studio in Japan, but since Comic is a ghettoized term in the West they went with something more marketable. $5 people! Five dollars! -------------------- You know, life is funny.

A complete steal. Manga Studio is THE software for the digital comic book artist. My entire Hasbro portfolio that got me hired was done in Manga Studio.
Photoshop (which I use for my painting) is a photo manipulation and painting program that some people use to make comics. Manga Studio is a program built FOR people who make comics. I can't suggest it highly enough for anyone working digitally. It's as close to perfect as any tool on the market right now. -------------------- Owner and Creator at PixelFigs

I will co-sign on that. I picked up the version that's one up from the Debut version on sale last year, but the core functions you'll need are still there.
Most important for a caveman like myself - when I pick a brush to ink with in Manga Studio it behaves pretty damn close to the Windsor & Newton brush I'm used to with minimal tweaking, horsing around, and general fighting with the software as a novice coming at Photoshop may experience (e.g. the "Pen" tool in PS is a huge bucket of WTF). There's no reason to not spend $5 on this if you're interested in digital illustration or just familiarizing yourself with other tools. -------------------- You know, life is funny.

Nice find Greg! I've been meaning to pick up Manga Studio for a long time. It's a great piece of software.

Though I think Corel does offer better sales than Adobe, both really need to offer a crazy sale every once in a while. Unless Adobe is just that hellbent on everybody with a DeviantArt account pirating their software. For the past two years one of my resolutions has been to get finances in order and obtain a legit copy of PS for personal use. -------------------- You know, life is funny.

Actually there is many cheap ways to get PS, if you a student even easier, if not there is other ways look around you be surprised I found a few long time ago after I got mines.. seems like I am always late for many things, so nowadays I wait a few weeks before i buy -------------------- |
