One of the greatest writers of our times, Ray Bradbury died today at 91. A dreamer, poet, writer, he always reached for the stars, his imagination unparallelled in American literature. Now he is among those stars he loved so dearly. R.I.P. Ray Bradbury and thanks.

I interviewed him in 1996 for a newspaper here in Cincinnati, and he was so inspiring. You could feel the energy in the room raise when he talked about the writing process. I might transcribe it and see if someone at CR might run it later this week as a tribute.

Heard about this. Sad to hear, but he has joined his wife now, which is a positive thing.

He also lived a long life, and was a pretty cool person when one reads about him. Just look at how he addressed EC comics adapting stories without his permission. He wrote them a tactful letter, asked for his royalties, and never went to the lawyers to get it.

And he got the royalties he wanted, with no hassle.

And he also inspired the youtube and itunes hit, F**k me Ray Bradbury. The link is below, and yes, the writer and star of the short met Ray Bradbury too as she was a genuine fan.

F*** me, Ray Bradbury
