Was all hopeful.

And then I saw Jeph Loeb was writing a part of it. No thanks.1

Greg Land and Jeph Loeb? Do they want us not to buy it?

As for Brian Posehn, yeah, familiar with his comedy, but not as a writer.

I'm actually a fan of Greg Land's work, have been since Sojourn. I get the complaints with him, but to each their own.

Loeb is hit and miss (usually miss) with me.

Loeb has been on a downward spiral for the past two decades. His writing has suffered immensely, and he seems to start well, and then it goes to spit. Hush was a book that I avoided after a few issues, because I knew the villain, knew the ending, and just gave it all up before getting to the 4th issue.

The Long Halloween was a really cool book, even if I find that Tim Sale is hit and miss with me. Superman from all Seasons was also pretty good, but Tim Sale made Superman look fat.

Yesterday, Marvel rolled out several more teasers...

The Future of Marvel NOW! Is Family.

Fraction and Bagley take over Fantastic Four.

Matt Fraction

Mark Bagley

November 2012

The Future of Marvel NOW! Is Extended.

This seems to intimate that Fraction and Allread are taking on FF as Fraction is also on Fantastic Four. So while both will be cancelled in October, they are only relaunching with a brand new #1 in November apparently.

Matt Fraction

Mike Allred

November 2012

The Future of Marvel NOW! Is Soldier.

Remender and Romita Jr. take over Captain America.

Rick Remender.

John Romita Jr.

November 2012

The Future of Marvel NOW! Is Legacy.

And finally, the last teaser would seem to indicate an X-title, but while speculation is rampant, there is no confirmation as of yet to exactly which title this one hints at. Spurrier commented on Twitter that those speculations were "splendidly wrong" apparently in reference to the obvious choice of X-Men Legacy.

Spurrier

Huat

November 2012

In total, that's at least 8 new #1s coming in November alone!

QUOTE (Gonzogoose @ Aug 8 2012, 04:16 PM) *

Allred, to me, is one of those hit and miss artists. Put him on a certain title, and it works. But on Fantastic Four? I dunno. That book needs the fantastic (no pun intended) to work, and allred is more suited to drawing the ordinary, or the mental ala Mad Man. Whenever he attempts to draw the fantasy elements...It's never really successful. Tis unfortunate, but that is how I view him. And it is not the style of his art that I dislike, as some do, but just the lack of certain elements.

I'm personally one of those who isn't a fan of Allred's work. I haven't liked anything I've seen of his. No offense to him personally, I just don't care for his art. And given the fact that FF books are always more miss than hit with me, it's a safe bet I'll skip that one.
