Hey all,
I didn't know where else to put this question, but what do you think are the best space comics out there right now? whether webcomic or paper, small press or the Big Two, who is carrying the space adventure genre forward nowadays? My creating is influenced, in part, by the old 30s-40s-50s space novels (E. E. "Doc" Smith) and comics (like Space Action and Space Detective). In the early '90s, I saw some excellent Star Trek comics, and in the latter half of the '00s, there were excellent comics that served as extensions of the Battlestar Galactica reboot, as well as stand-alone Buck Rogers reboot comics. What's the freshest, best sci-fi? What's now? -------------------- |

Hello NickSD -
I see no one has responded yet to your query, so let me dive in... Waited because I wanted to recommend one of my books! Judging by your description, you might like my "Adventures of Alibi Jones" from Earthbound Comics. You'll find it for DL here: http://comics.drivethrustuff.com/product/9...-of-Alibi-Jones Or in print here: http://indyplanet.com/store/product_info.p...roducts_id=6027 And here's what it's about: QUOTE Welcome to the world of ALIBI JONES - Come along as Humankind expands into the stars! Alibi Jones is a Mediator in The Solar Alliance Interplanetary Force - The SAIF - in the year 2135, negotiating treaties and agreements between humankind and alien races. That's Alibi on the cover - art by FEDERICO GUILLEN. Our first story - "Blind Eye" - illustrated by MEISHA - takes place early in Alibi's career. His Aunt Anita asks him to attend a political social event on her behalf. Alibi discovers there may be more to a new colonial venture than meets the eye... "The Dakhur" and "The Flaze" are Alien Portraits by FEDERICO GUILLEN. The short "Father's Day" - illustrated by RHYS AP GWYN - flashes back 23 years to the eventful day Alibi meets his father, Bernard Campion - the VATICAN ASSASSIN! "Alibi Under Fire" - An action shot by FEDERICO GUILLEN. MEISHA returns on art for "About Time". Four years after the events of Blind Eye, Alibi runs into an old... friend? She's brought a mysterious package with her - and a whole lot of trouble! Stories and Letters by Mike Luoma Hope you give it a try! In terms of the Big Two, Marvel's Annihilation series, followed by Annihilation: Conquest and the NOVA and Guardians of the Galaxy titles were giving me that spacer fix. Also had spacer fans getting into my VATICAN ASSASSIN series - DL #1: http://comics.drivethrustuff.com/product/8...atican-Assassin Print: http://indyplanet.com/store/product_info.p...roducts_id=3144 QUOTE What's it about?
Meet Bernard Campion - most people call him "BC". BC is on a mission - assassinate the Governor of Lunar Prime! The reverberations may effect the survival of the entire human race... It's the year 2109. BC - Bernard Campion - poses as a priest - but he's really an assassin for the Pope of the New catholic Church! He's struggling with his work's inherent contradictions, trying to take care of “business” during an out of control interplanetary war between The Universal Trade Zone (the commercial power of Earth); Lunar Prime - the neutral city on the Moon; and the UIN - the Universal Islamic Nation now based on Mars. -------------------- Get free downloads and listen to free audiobooks at glowinthedarkradio.com
