In what may be the most important election in decades.....make sure your voice is heard.

No matter which canidate you favor....take advantage of the fact that we the people of the United States are fortunate enough to have a voice in choosing who leads this great counrty of ours.

Speak up.
Let the nation know how you feel.
Today is the day.

Amen to that, G-Man. And if you happen to one of those apathetic S.O.Bs who thinks voting is a waste of time, then don't come belly-aching later on about what the government is or isn't doing for you. America works when your voices are heard. VOTE!!!

I'm sitting here in Washington DC and I can look out my window and see the Washington Monument off in the distance. I can't quite express how proud I feel to have voted this year. To know my voice has been heard and to know that I played a part in something much bigger than myself is a feeling I always respect and honor anytime I'm called to vote. I implore everyone, no matter who you support to go out and make your voice heard. It matters!

My vote was cast several days ago and I also join the group here in urging everyone to take the time to cast your vote!

I got to kick off my Election Day '08 with James Carville and Mary Matalin as they spoke at the conference I'm attending. I can't think of a better way to ring in this year's election as they are an absolute trip to listen to when they're together. Listening to them dissect the election is becoming a bit of a tradition as they were also on hand for the '04 election. My day job certainly has it's own interesting perks from time to time.

Why am I in Washington DC?
Here's the story for anyone interested...

I couldn't agree more.

I'm hoping for a new spirit of bi-partisan coordination in Washington. I know I'm probably just dreaming, but I can't think of a better thing to hope for than a time when we no longer see ourselves or our country as a collection of blue states or red states. I long for a time when government officials put the interests of the people ahead of personal interests or ever re-election.

Too much is wrong to not hope and work, very personally, for a better tomorrow. I know Katie and I plan to put up rather than shut up and do our part within our own lives and six months ago that couldn't have been further from my mind. I think that is the power of this election. I know it may not have been what everyone wanted, but it did fill a lot of us with a sense of purpose we haven't seen or experienced in quite a few years.

Hope, when it hits home at my level, can change a nation and in turn a world.

Okay, enough from me on the political side...

I join everyone in saluting our country and the process that we'll all just walked through on November 4th. Wow!

Katie with some amazing original art... Hi George! ...at the National Portrait Gallery
