Hey guys,

Brant steered me towards this board, so I thought I'd throw some of my work up for you to take a look at. Feel free to rip me a new one when you think it's warranted. I look forward to talking with and getting to know more of you.

To put things into context, here is the first piece I ever did. *shudders*

Lines by Ed McGuinness

Here is some early Fallen Justice work. I think this was the first or second time I had taken a stab at these characters, so to go along with my inexperience at the time, I wasn't really familiar with how I wanted them to look.

Lines by Harold Edge

This was a short-lived project from Small Press Idol back in '07 called Advent. We definitely had the artistic chops to win the contest, but we didn't work well within the voting rules that were set up and the owner ended up pulling the plug before the 3rd round.

Pencils by Ben Jones
Inks by Tom Schloendorn

This was a convention sketch that I had found on the internet and decided to use it for a basic coloring tutorial. (If anyone is interested, I can post the tutorial on this board as well.)

Pencils by the incomparable George Perez

Hey! It's a Wannabez siting!!!!! This was the cover for the #0 issue.

Lines by Scott Simmons

And here is a single shot of Ignition from Wannabez. I think this was just to see what it would look like in grayscale. ???

Lines by Scott Simmons

These are a couple pieces I did for the Mike Weiringo tribute book we were trying to put together over at Gutterzombie. We ended up deferring to the book put out by friends of the family, but it was still an honor to be apart of it.

Lines by Mike Weiringo (RIP)

Some portfolio pieces

Pencils by Sandoval
Inks by Espositio

Pencils by Dustin Nguyen
Inks by Derek Fridolfs

Pencils by Chris Bachalo
Inks by Tim Townsend

Pencils by Chris Bachalo
Inks by Tim Townsend

Pencils by Adam Hughes
Inks by Tim Townsend (I'm sensing a theme....)

Pencils by Jaro

Pencils by Takara

Okay, okay, okay.... Enough of that for now.

Here is some of my more recent Fallen Justice work presented in no particular order.

Lines by Harold Edge

And last (for now) my most recent portfolio piece. I had this in my stash for a long time and it was just intimidating so in the stash it stayed until I felt I could tackle it and do it a little bit of justice.

Lines by Jeff Welborn

That's it for now. I'll be back to update as soon as I have some more pieces that I can show. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Ross

Sweet posts, Ross. There's even a few pieces in here I hadn't seen yet.

As Ross knows, I'm one of his biggest fans, and I think it's just a matter of time before he's snatched up by the big boys. I'm privileged to work with him.

That is some sweet work!!! I really loved the Lobo, Wolvie and the Mysterio. I looking for a good colorist for some prints of more comic style pieces. Any interest?

Ah, guys, let's not repeat entire image posts. That's just a total waste of space here. I love this coloring work, and the one piece that impressed me the most was that looking through the broken glass, as his ability to mute the colors seen through the glass was brilliant.

My plate is a little on the full side right now, but shoot me an e-mail with the details and we'll see what we can work out.

Thanks, everyone. I'll post some more in a bit. I just got some Kevin Maguire Fantastic Four pages and a Phantom of the Opera piece I had commissioned for my wife that I'll be tackling in between pages of Wannabez and issue #6 of Fallen Justice, so you should be seeing plenty from me in the near future.

I had this drawing commissioned for my wife's birthday. I ended up staying up all night to get the colors done in time, but it's totally worth it for how much she's going to love this.

Happy Birthday, honey!!!!

Ross, your coloring is just beautiful. I hope you land some high profile gigs because you deserve them. Also cool to see you working with Brant and Cary...

Hey Ross!

Great to have you over here at Comic Related!
Nice work, as always!

And the Phantom piece looks great.
I love how you did the gold, marble effects, and textures that really evoke the looks of the time period.

Scott

Along with the pages for issue #6 of Fallen Justice, Cary sent me some promo stuff to work on as well. I'll post some more of them when I get them finished up. I'm already noticing a problem with the glow around Prometheus' arm. I'm thinking that happened when I converted to CMYK. I'll fix that and repost, but in the mean time, I'd love to hear what you have to say about anything else.

I think these are awesome, Ross! And since I just read some FJ this morning thanks to Cary I was totally psyched to see these! Love the Dervish Tee.

Thanks Brant.

Okay, I FINALLY got everything situated with my new computer and was able to update these a little bit.

I dropped the sat level on the tail end of the jacket in the first pic and brought out some more light in his arms and shoulders to help break that up a little bit. Also added a whiter highlight to the underside rimlight to help him pop out even more.

I added some rimlight to Justice Theta.

I fixed the glow in the Prometheus pic, and played with my color holds on the background rocks so that it didn't look so plain.

I'm moving on to some new ones this evening, so hopefully I'll have a couple more to be able to post tomorrow.
