Hey there Anthony, glad to see a familiar face here. I love the new stuff you have been doing. The Namor image has so much movement to it. Keep drawing and keep postin'....FREAK(Kev)

Anthony, it's obvious you have fun doing this artwork, as each piece seems to pop off the page. And I love how you capture facial expressions. Bravo. Really, really good work.

I love that Vamperilla piece, but was blown away at the penciled Namor page. Why aren't you working for Marvel?
Out of all the sketch cards, the Magneto card is my favorite. The coloring is simply amazing. Keep up the wonderful work! |

The coloring is simply amazing. Keep up the wonderful work! Thank you, Tim! I guess I'm not working for them because, up until this year, I really thought my work SUCKED! With the exception of Hellgirl, most of this artwork was completed this year! This post has been edited by Flairbrusher: Oct 12 2009, 05:21 AM -------------------- |

Hey Flair...great work as usual love the Vampirella piece. Excellent use of value on that one. I like the Boba Fett piece among your sketch cards..it speaks to me for some reason.

Thanks for all of your support! As far as colors are concerned, I have every bit of faith in you that you can accomplish what you set as your goal, Steve! I always try to keep in mind artists that I admire, like Boris, Frazetta, the Hildebrandts, the people at Guru-EFX, Steve Buccellato, Marie Severin, and Steve Oliff just to name a few people. It's always a work in progress, like my line work, and my backgrounds and anatomy. I wish I could say that I've arrived, but I don't think I ever will. I feel more comfortable with what I've been doing lately, though, but that's only because I've learned a few new tricks that I never knew before.

Boris, Frazetta, and the Hildebrandts are all amazing. They've been an inspiration to me as well.
I also like Boris' wife, Julie Bell (I may have misspelled her name.) |

Partnered with Boris, they take their brand of bodybuilding inspired art to incredible levels!! -------------------- |

That they do. I had forgotten to mention that i also found Steve Oliff to be an inspiration for color work,
afterall he was the first to do digital coloring. If not for him I wouldn't be a colorist today. |

If not for him I wouldn't be a colorist today. Thanks for your compliments on my work, guys. Tim, I didn't know that Oliff was the first to do digital coloring. Shows where my head's been at. I think I was really taken my his work on John Buscema's art in Epic and the Conan The Barbarian comic adaptation. There was a fine, watercolor feel to his colors that had me playing with watercolors in high school. -------------------- |
