Nice attention to detail and I like the coloring, it really pops out at you. I'm glad to see you are doing well with the sketch cards.

I have yet to see the original uncut GoLion series but i do have the edited Event productions series on DVD.
It was a fun series, and back when Devils Due had the rights I was even beginning to write a series proposal to them, obviously they went with someone else and that's when I shifted gears to wanting to do coloring instead. |

Here's a preview of Zombies Vs. Cheerleaders Issue #1 from 5finity Productions and Moonstone Books! I had the honor of being the color artist on the main story!
Chapter One- Pencils and Inks by Benjamin Glendenning ![]() Chapter Two- Pencils and Inks by Jessica Hickman ![]() Chapter Three- Pencils and Inks by Frankie B. Washington ![]() Special thanks to Lisa Moore, Nicole Goff, and the kind folks at HueDoo for their kind assistance when I was banging my head against the wall at certain coloring stages!! Many thanks to my wife Iris, for bravely taking on some flatting when the deadline was looming as well!! -------------------- |

Impressive, most impressive! Your art teacher has taught you well. Seriously, you blew me away with these. I think they have to be some of the best you have done to this day. I love your use of color and the backgrounds are just amazing.

Thanks, Tim!! At my age, I've gotta keep my eyes open and keep retraining myself. I'm looking for an edge that I never had in my work (style--never had one) and never made time to develop. Six months straight of doing nothing but sketch cards has helped me a lot in that respect!! I can't wait to apply all of this to larger more elaborate pieces!!

I'd have to agree that doing sketch cards for six months straight has helped. I'd love to see what you can do with a bigger canvas to work from/with.

I have to say it though, I didn't want to be too harsh, but it was my honest opinion. The art surpassed the story. And now that I see someone on here did some color work I can say awesome job. I did enjoy the color work on that main story.

Thanks, Dan. It really wasn't meant to be Shakespeare. Hopefully, there will be an issue #2. It was really a project out of whimsy since the sketch card series was successful earlier this year. Thanks for the compliments on the art. I passed your review on to Steve Frank. We all had a lot of fun with it, and that's what counts.

Oh of course it is. I mean hell if we didn't have people having fun with things all we would get is Marvel titles. SNORE!! LOL
With my reviews I always try to not be super critical in terms of bringing people down, again unless it were the big 2, because people on that level care about what they do. So while it ma not apeal to me, I try to have it come off as just how I feel. And even in the downsides, instead of Beating something to death, I look for the upside in it. Like it was a little too over the top instead of WHAT CRAP! I mean hell who am I to step on anothers work. I just try to approach things as I did in art school with critiques. Point out what doesn't work, but explain how it can improve. -------------------- |

Point out what doesn't work, but explain how it can improve. That being said, we may just have to have some Zombie critics in the next issue-- or critics being attacked by zombies. Or maybe some zombie cheerleaders that are also critics. Sounds like a good script to me! Let's go!! -------------------- |

Nailed the tone of the book from what i saw... kudos to the artists. ill have to grab a copy to read, but from a book like this i dont really expect much in terms of story. Just fun, zombie cheerleader antics.. -------------------- ![]() |

I'm probably a little late on a reply Anthony but your painting skillz are really coming around. Keep up the good work and lets see some more. Seeing as how I suck as a colorist I have no constructive criticism to add

Hey, without proper reference, my anatomy and perspective sucks. Thank you for your compliments!! I seem to remember an old high school classmate telling me how I could paint but I couldn't draw... it's taken me until recently to make the proper changes for that. Practice makes perfect! (I love old school wisdom!)
