We finally released THE GREEN LAMA Vol. One. today. Sadly, because of some snafu, the files posted to our on-line store have the wrong version of the cover. The correct version is the one seen in the press releases. Its the same image/painting, only the placement of the Airship 27 logo is different. We hope to get the correct one put up later today. Meanwhile the "other" version is only available until that swap is made. Call it a snafu pulp collectible. Ha.
Now 5:30 PM and the publisher finished swapping out the covers and the official one is now there at the store site. The alternate has been removed and is history. Hope those of you who have heard of this classic pulp figure will check it out. Thanks, ever. This post has been edited by Ron Fortier: Aug 14 2009, 04:30 PM |

Selling like a rocket. Am happy to announce that THE GREEN LAMA, our latest pulp anthology had captured the attention of comic and pulp fans alike. Happily, it is attracting much attention from the Alex Ross fans who have been rediscovering this character via his Dynamite series, SUPER POWERS. What most fans did not know is that there in fact two very distinct versions of this character and both written by his creator, George Foster Crossen. Crossen created the mystic hero for Double Detective, a pulp magazine, to be competition for the Shadow. In this version, he is must more human and his amazing abilities are more of the mind. When the Shadow moved to comics, the publishers of the Green Lama did the same and Crossen was retained to keep writing him. Only now Crossen gave him a green-skin tight uniform, rather than his monk's habit, plus super strength and the ability to fly.
When Dynamite picked up the character, they opted to do the "comic" version and it has become a big hit with the fans. We, at Airship 27 Productions thought it was high time to bring back the original "pulp" Green Lama, and so our first book in this new series. And happily, as mentioned earlier, it too is selling like hotcakes. Thanks for all of you supporting this effort. Ron |
