Hmmmm....I HOPE people have participated in this....what a cool oppertunity!

I forone haven't done anything yet due to the BS going on at work. I wonder though If I can try to do something over the next couple nights? Hmmmm.....that's if I don't get any phone calls with people complaining bout their computers being messed up.

It's strange that the most free time I have had in months is when I am on nights in the middle of an army exercise.

I need to bring my boards tomorrow and begin working - and pray for no phone calls. ;-)

I may give it a whack if my schedule permits-- you know a rapidly approaching deadline can do all kinds of things to an artist. No Promises tho

Murhpeys law has kicked in here at work for me. :(

I got called in to help during day shift cause we had a complete computer meltdown catastrophy today. I'm the "goto" guy for stuff like that so basically I had to help calm the storm for much of the day, then go home to rest a couple hours, and come back for tonights night shift. *SIGH*

I had thumbnails done and wanted to be drawing all night - no luck for me. Maybe next time. :(

Hey everyone! I decided to put my entry up today (as my old platoon-sgt. used to say "no guts, no glory!"). I started my layouts and rough-sketches almost as soon as Mr. Nichols put the script for the contest up, but then set them aside due to work, family, etc. I didn't get back to them until about 48 hours ago, and I know they would have turned out better if I hadn't procrastinated so much! :? :?
I have gotten into the (bad) habit of doing very loose layouts and then going directly to inks and colored-pencils. So having to stick only with pencils was actually GREAT! I know I'm still pretty new here, but feel free to rip me a new one if you don't like what you see! I want as much criticism of my work as possible, because only then can I improve (I'm one of those guys that doesn't see even the obvious mistakes in my own work for several days after drawing it  ).
(I only have a second-hand scanner that does 8.5 x 11 in. paper, so figuring out how to scan and join my Blueline boards was an interesting experience in and of itself! I'm too broke to buy photoshop and am trying to figure out a program someone mentioned here called GIMP to join my pics in the future. )

Thanks for looking!

That can be a good thing too though. You can go faster and capture things in ink you can't in pencils. I think the pages look really nice. The two things that stand out to me are-

1. In the first panel the girl with the sword looks like she is posing/ standing, yet she is cutting the creature in half. I would put her in an action pose, showing some real force that she is imposing.

2. The big panel in the middle is nicely drawn, but you kind of have a negative shape created with the figures that seems to be focusing on the box in the background, my eye went right to it and I thought I was suppose to be looking at the box.

Great start, keep up the good work!
