I had this piece commissioned for my wife for her birthday/Valentine's day LAST year and have just now gotten around to coloring it for her. Sorry, honey!!!

Comments and crits are always welcome.

Thank you, Dave.

Did colors for this and a couple other pieces to repay the favor Harold did me on the Sweeney Todd commission.

C&C's always appreciated.

I made some adjustments to this based off of the feedback I've received. Sorry, couldn't/wouldn't shrink the pouches. smile.gif

I darkened the building and painted a little bit of my sky over the bat-signal to help it blend in a little more. Darkened the bat-line near Batman's hands. Adjusted the color of the bulbs and their glow (but I still tried to keep them from attracting too much attention). And I pumped a little bit more saturation in the colors. I felt they were a little muted.

I kept this under wraps (for 2 whole days) until I could give a printed copy to Jerry at Comicpalooza. A few months ago at Comiccon, my wife and I bought the original and a colored print of this from Jerry and talked with him a bit. I decided to scan the original and do colors for it too.

Colored these for a couple different covers for books that are coming out at C2E2. I'll also be using these for some prints.

C&C's are more than welcome.

I think I've almost got my "Sorry I haven't been around much lately..." speech perfected by now. I've been keeping my head down while working on a project for the last few months called Nature God. I wrapped it up a couple of days ago, so now I'm trying to get caught up on commissions before I start working on some stuff of my own and getting my portfolio tightened up.

Before I get started on commission work, I had promised that this would be the next thing I did that wasn't Nature God related. Look for more coming from me VERY soon!!!

Glad your back Ross! Great batman piece, I especially like what you did with the lightsource from the batmobile. Love the way it's shining up on him. smile.gif

Thanks, Lisa! This is eventually going to be made into a print as well. I've got a commission to knock out next, then I'll be moving on to another couple of prints, so you'll be seeing a lot more from me. Keep your eyes peeled!!!

Free time....who knew? I'm really trying to create some strong portfolio pieces in the coming days. In the mean time, here's a piece that I'm going to have made in to a print in the near future. Me want feedback!!!

Very cool Ross. Love the light shining down especially through his fingers. The only thing that sticks out to me is the smoke looks really solid. Don't know if that's what your going for or not. So if it was... ignore me. lol

Thanks, Lisa. Yeah, I think the voluminous clouds is a habit that Harold got me into. LOL His clouds are always so thick, that I think it just kind of stuck. I'm going to go with ........artistic license......yeah......that's the ticket......!

I started on this one a couple months ago and had to put it aside. I've been wanting to finish it up for a while now. I've probably still got to make some adjustments to it, but I want to take a break from it and come back to it. In the mean time I figured I'd post it and see what everyone else thought about it.

Sure it looks like Supes has the upper-hand here, but we ALL know how this one is going to turn out, don't we?

This was a fun one to color. I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with the light at the top, but I'm going to take a step back from it and see what others may think before deciding if I need to rework it.

C&C's heartily encouraged!

Great stuff!

How much do generally charge to color one cover image?
