A few words from the man behind Penny Dreadful Press...

QUOTE
I'm always interested in meeting creative people, especially talented and reliable artists, so feel free to leave comments or pm me. I've been known to hire my fellow creators from time to time, but I'm really looking to settle into a studio, or find a partner or two to help me build on the goals I've been working towards.

I'm primarily a writer/creator. I usually design my own characters, logos, emblems, and yes, I do all my own stunts.

Be on the look out for more PDP. The best is yet to come!

Dave

Thanks to both you guys! I'm amazed at the work that is put into this site, and I'm happy to be here!

Just a comment, and quick first announcement...

I hope to get to know everybody here in the coming months, so please, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions concerning Penny Dreadful Press. This has been my dream since I was a child, and even though it can be tough for us small press guys, I plan to be in this for the long haul. I can be found on both myspace and comicspace, and I have my own website, but to me, this is home. My true base of operations. Chuck has generously offered me a place at his table, and I've never seen anyone else work harder at trying to build a good old fashioned, home grown enterprise. For me, Comic Related is the voice of indepedence.

Issue #1 of Gothic Romance and issue #1 of The Faustians are both in print and currently available. More pages will be here in the near future.

My third title; Uncle Samson And The Phantoms Of Lost Liberty (USPOLL) is slowly gaining momentum. If you check back from time to time, you may even watch it grow up right here in the forums!

Best,

Dave

Dave...

Just passing through taking a look at some of the art once again. Your work really is solid. I'm really glad to have you here with us.

How's the new title coming along?

Hey Chuck

Uncle Samson and the Phantoms Of Lost Liberty #1 is about 75% scripted. Usualy when I write a script I start with pencil and paper, then type it later. This can be pretty tedious, but it gives me the freedom to sketch out thumbnails as I write.

Issue #1 will not only introduce USPOLL, but pretty much my whole super hero universe of over 40 characters. Some of them have existed in one form or another for over 15 years. I'm still keeping an eye out for the right artist.

I sincearly appreaciate the kind words. I genuinely try to give people the best quality I can, but like most indy publishers, I'm at the mercy of my personal finances, and in many cases, the work ethics of the people I hire.

Given the costs of producing a full color comic, and the level of artwork I expect in order to put my name on as a publisher, USPOLL will probably be looking for a publishing partner.
