Coverage of Twilight Star's One Year Anniversary is now up on the front page!

Thanks Brant and Chuck!

There is a mention of Vasilis Saroglou, a graphic artist from Greece, who we were checking into as a possible colorist option but wanted to inform everybody with this update...that option did not work out.

A look a recent events by Joe Pruitt...taken from his blog page....

Ummmm.....yeah.....I know it's been awhile you don't have to tell me ! LOL
Sooooo yeah.....I'm gonna have to scrap the fact of doing a weekly blog at this time being. I just have a lot of different projects going on, lots of event, Like MID OHIO CON, which I am typing this blog during. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the fact that i have a lot of things going on, it's just that I know i can't take the time to commit to doing a worthwhile blog every week. at least not right now. But I can guarantee you I will keep it updated as much as possible. So first up, we had a great time celebrating Twilight Star Production's one year anniversary on October 23rd. you can check all that went down at this link http://comicrelated.com/news/9357/life-in-four-colors and you can here all the interviews (including one of yours truly) by comic related's very own Chuck Moore, at this link http://comicrelated.com/news/9194/the-related-recap-229The Guys at Superfly comics once again went beyond the call of duty to make this an incredible event and I wanna thank them so much for helping us make it happen.Everyone had an incredible time and was in high spirits as we had not one, but 3 new books released on the this date including my very own Brit & Ivy Super Spectacular Collection! We also got to see a preview of Dustin Carson's new Project HalfBreed with artist Chris Metzger! Let me tell ya, this is gonna be BIG!!! So if you are here at Mid-Ohio con, Make sure you stop by their table and check it out along with Dustin's already phenomenal book, NO GODS.I am still about 6 pages out before Bumtastic 4 goes live, but it has been confirmed, it will be making its debut and home at Comic Related!!! WOOO HOO!!!
Still plugging along with first volume of Brit & Ivy's on going series. I must say, I am very happy how it's coming along and I can't wait to share more with ya.
I am also just about done with the second mini episode of Phoebe and Eddie, so that will be available very soon at www.championcitycomics.comSo now it's 7pm, after the first day of Mid-Ohio Con, i have met many incredible artists, writers, seen and have hung out with friends and familiar faces and has been an incredible experience. I can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us!! Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that the incredible guys and gal at Packrat comics is now carrying Brit & Ivy's Specatacular Collection!!!!!!

Well Mid-Ohio Con is over (in more ways than one) and it appears that Chad Strohl had a decent time this past weekend as Hero took the well deserved spotlight at his table at the show.

Here's a few words from Chad about this weekend's show.

"I did make it to the Pack Rat party. That was a good time, but we left by about 10pm to gear up for the weekend.

Saturday had a packed crowd, while Sunday showed some thinning. I sold about 8 copies of Hero #1, and one customer bought a whole set 1-5. Sold 1 NCD."

I'm glad to see some people finally taking a chance on one of the most well thought out comic projects available and one I know is near and dear to Chad. I hope we hear some feedback from the person that picked up issues #1-5. I can't wait to get my hands on #5 myself.

Chad's next appearance will be at the indie comic con Up Fair this coming weekend in Lexington Kentucky....of course Hero #1-5 will be available at Chad's table as well as most other books from Twilight Star and copies of the collected edition of New Comic Day.

Also available this past weekend at Mid-Ohio Con was Gapo the Clown #2

I worked on a story that appeared in this book. Tony Miello (Gapo creator, artist and writer) illustrated the piece and I can't wait to check out my copy of it. I hear it's on the way!!!

Twilight Star's first sell out record which was Pandemonium Spotlight #1....

....which sold out in just three weeks of it's release September 10th of this year is SAFE.

I thought, and quite honestly had hoped that Jack the Rabbit #1....

..which was released October 30th was set to break this record. Jack #1 sold 22 copies the very first day I received the book and 8 more copies over the next three days...leaving me with with just 12 copies. Currently I still have 9 of those 12 and it does not look as though I will have a chance to sell them before this coming Friday the 12th....so no new record.

I think the fact that I have been so busy prepping the next two books from Twilight Star (The Un-Naturals Source Book and Prodigy #1 both due out later this month) and that I haven't had much of a chance to get out and push this book played a large part in keeping Spotlight's record in tact.

Perhaps Prodigy #1 will knock it off it's perch.

Speaking of Prodigy #1....coming along well. Rick should be lettering it later this week. Chad Strohl is still coloring the cover, although we decided to go with the original cover by Oscar Pena for a couple of reasons...

...and the book will also feature this pin up piece by local artist and good friend Kevin Hicks.

without the G-Man studios tag of course.

Ron Fortier's latest story for Twilight Star "Gun Site" which is a war/horror story set in WWII is well under way and in full production. I received this e-mail from Ron yesterday evening.

"Hi Bill,
Well my artist pal from Quebec, Olivier Raymond finally got back to me...and as you can see by the roughs attached, he's signed on to illustrate GUNSITE for us.
He will pencil, ink and letter the entire project.
He's an awesome artist. I'm thrilled he's on board.
Ron"

The thumbnails that accompanied this e-mail looked great. Gun Site is a five page story which will appear in either Tales From The' Field #3 scheduled for a January 2011 release or Tales From The 'Field #4 scheduled for an April 2011 release. It depends on which story gets completed first...Gun Site with Oliver Raymond or Dragnet by artist Kevin Adkins.

Gun site is the fourth story Ron has contributed to the studio so far including The Diner with artist Jeremy McHugh which appeared in Tales From The ' Field #2 and Grass Roots with artist Chris Metzger, inker Chris Hoskins and letters by BJay Johnson which we have still to run. (very likely will run in Tales From The 'Field #5 currently scheduled for a August 2011 release).

I love having the Captain involved with Twilight Star and hope to see even more work from him coming through the studio in the future.

Lisa Moore has finished coloring the cover for the Un-Naturals Source Book due out in just a few weeks and here's your chance to check it out!

Everybody at the studio thought she did an excellent job and we are honored to have her involved with this book.

Raichal is in the editing stage of the book now and I am doing some other finishing touches before sending it off to Rick for final formatting.

Here's a look at the back cover as well.

The back cover features the combined talents of Oscar Pena, Brain Latimer, Vasilis Saroglou, Derron Church, Bill Gladman, and Sean Forney.

This same piece was available as a print at Super-Fly a few weeks ago.

First thing I wanted to share with you, which isn't really Twilight Star related (but is in way when you consider Gapo the Clown will soon be popping up in an issue of Pandemonium Spotlight in the very near future)....Gapo the Clown #2 is out!

Two great stories in the same book, both drawn by Gapo creator and artist Tony Meillo

The book features a great cover that owes a lot to the Superman vs. Ali book released by D.C in the 70's. The first story is written and drawn by Tony and features a guest appearance of Wolfman Mac! A real live host of a television show in the Michigan area. The second story also drawn by Tony is written by...me! Tony did a great job bringing this script to live. I was very honored to have worked with him on this book.

If you would like to get a copy of this book just check out this website for more details and info.

www.gapotheclown.com

And look for the next story that Tony and I are working on together....featuring the New Comic Day version of me and Gapo hanging out together! That should be interesting!

Coming soon from Twilight Star

We Never Sleep.

Prodigy #1 is well on it's way. The launch of the 4th on-going series from Twilight Star Studios gets closer to the finish line everyday. Check out the color cover for the first issue! Art by Oscar Pena and colored by new comic book coloring phenom, Chad Strohl!!!

Chad did a great job on this. I'm telling you I think this guy can do anything!!

Rick is lettering the book now and he thinks it should be done by Thursday which means it could be off to the printer by Friday and we should have it in stores next Weds....the day before Thanksgiving!

Also final edits on the Un-Naturals Source Book should be completed later today and it looks like this book should be out the week after Thanksgiving!

Other great stuff to look forward to....

Pandemonium Spotlight #2 should still be out next month and quite possibly the Necrotrancer Sketch Book
Tales From The 'Field #3 will be released in January...the art being produced by the Brothers Church for this book is just amazing....Joe and I couldn't stop looking at it at the meeting yesterday.

Speaking of Joe, he's finishing up the 10th page of the Bumtastic Four, the best art that I've seen him do to date!!! This is great stuff. Once page #12 is done he is going to start lettering this and we hope to launch the web comic version of this right here on Comic Related before the end of the year.

And speaking of great art...Tim Hagans has just finished a pin up featuring two of his characters (Cybercat and Zodiac) as well as everybody's favorite demon hunter Necrotrancer. This thing was smoking hot! These three characters will be appearing in a story together next year and I will be sharing that picture with you right here in the Hell Yeah forum first chance I get!

As promised here's the promo art that Tim "Shady" Hagans recently finished for the story "One Night In Chicago"

The story will be written by both Tim and I and features two of Tim's characters (Cybercat-far left. and Zodiac-middle) and everybody's favorite demon hunter-Necrotrancer in the first Twilight Star crossover! These three characters used to work together on a super-hero team known as "Legacy: Heroes of Tomorrow" back when Tim and I used to role play....the last Saturday night of the month, every month---years ago back when my wife and I just bought our house.

Those adventures were part of the Into The Pandemonium gaming system I created in the late 1980's. Tim played Cybercat (of course), his wife Melissa played Zodiac (and often times stole the show) and my old Zonetrooper croonie Joe Shover played Necrotrancer....so well that Necrotancer's personality in the upcoming comics that he will be appearing in soon is based on the same personality that Joe developed for the character at the gaming table.

It's going to be really fun to bring the three of them together again, for the first time, in the pages of a comic!

Shady and I hope to have "One Night In Chicago" out by September 2011....and available for the first time at Champion City. I hope to have regular Necrotrancer artist James Hill draw what Tim and I is hoping to be a solid action packed one shot with Tim handling the inks on the book.

That will be a lethal combination!

More details to follow as the story develops!

Twilight Star is heading to Sin City!!!

Kind of....in a way...sort of......

Spent the day chatting with an incredible artist by the name of Victor Moya who recently just joined the Comic Related family. Victor lives in Las Vegas and is just an incredible inker! The guy also writes and pencils. After several e-mails back and forth I am happy to announce two stories that Victor has already finished will be appearing in back to back issues of Pandemonium Spotlight in the very near future.

The first story...My Girl Victor had some writing help from his 13 year old daughter, Ayela. When I learned this fact I was very excited. It is great to have another father/daughter creative team involved with Twilight Star.

The story is very dark and moody, but if this is what Ayela is writing at age 13....she is going to be headed places as she gets older. My Girl has never seen print before and Twilight Star will be publishing Ayela's very first work!!!! That is just amazing.

Here are a few scenes from My Girl...illustrated by proud poppa...Victor Moya.

We also picked another story written and illustrated by Vic entitled True Love....this sucker is vicious! It will follow in the next issue of Pandemonium Spotlight. True Love has never seen print either!

And to top it off....Vic has agreed to illustrate a brand new horror story entitled "Element Of Darkness" written by yours truly...
Element Of Darkness is six pages long and will more than likely be appearing in future issue of Tales From The' Field.

Vic may also end up doing some inking for us if needed and possibly a pin up from time to time of some of the characters created by the Twilight Star creative team.

Great to have both you and Ayela aboard the Twilight Star Express, Vic!!!

Say it with me.

Hell Yeah!!!!!

Still Groovin' along!!!!!

Just received an e-mail from Chad Lambert, plans for Lost Grooves are still moving forward and they may even be BIGGER and BETTER plans than originally announced as Mr. Lambert may be helping Twilight Star produce their very first.......(Naw...that would be tellin'. I think I'll keep a lid on that for now...see I CAN keep a secret)

Big news about Pandemonium Spotlight #2 out in December.....REALLY BIG NEWS as we are proud to present (another secret....but an announcement about this will be coming very soon!)

Other things I can't really say anything about yet includes another 4 page horror story called "Separation Anxiety" that will be drawn by (damn this keeping things under wraps stuff is freakin' hard for a guy like me)

Here's something I can talk about...Shadow Rider is going into production, I will be going over the art for the main three characters of the story Honore Speakes, Red Hand, and Crow Woman tomorrow afternoon. Artist J.A.Bowshier also is ready to start the first four pages of the story.

Chad Strohl is working on another four page horror masterpiece entitled "If Thy Hand Offends Thee"

Dan Taylor is illustrating a disturbing little tale entitled "Suicide Solution"

All that PLUS I will be inking the first few pages of Un-Naturals #1 and Perfect Day within the next couple of days. These pages of the Un-Naturals will be appearing as a four page preview in Tales From The 'Field #3 out in January and featuring stellar pencils by Derron Church.....Perfect Day written by Frank Raynor and featuring the best art that I have ever seen Gary Church produce also appears as the feature story in that same book!!!

Plus Prodigy #1 is almost ready to go to print and the Un-Naturals Source Book is next!!!!

Twilight Star

WE

Time for a new round of updates from Twilight Star Studios, Springfield Ohio's home for creativity.

What's been happening in the last week or so.....here's what's been happening.

Prodigy #1 is at the printer. Proof copy was done today, but I didn't have time to pick it up and won't have the time until Monday morning. Book should be out by next Friday....there has been a LOT of interest in this book and I feel it's the best comic I have ever produced so far!

The final editing on the Un-Naturals Source Book is complete! The book will hopefully be heading to the formatting stages next week. Changes on the formatting front ( as we once again re-delegate the duties of this task) may slow the process down slightly but we hope to still get this book out by the end of the year.

The final sketches for the Necrotrancer Sketch Book has also been turned in by artist James Hill....this book will soon be going into the formatting stages as well and this is another book that will hopefully be out this year as well.

Pandemonium Spotlight #2 is still coming together and the last story going into this book "If Thy Hand Offends Thee" written by myself and drawn and lettered by Chad Strohl is in the production stages right now. Fans of the work that Chad and I do together on the New Comic Day web comic will be in for a shock as Chad and I churn out a very chilling and disturbing tale that is about as far as way from NCD as you can go. The people who helped to make Pandemonium Spotlight #1 the first sold out book the studio has produced already know the type of material this book covers , coupled with some as Chad's best art to date this story really makes "Hand" a serious dark departure for the two of us.....plus Chris Metzger is back as the artist for the feature story....and he brought along some friends. This book will be heading to the formatting stages very soon and should be the last book the studio produces before the ball drops in Times Square.

The holidays may alter the production plans slightly as our creators enjoy time off with families and friends and time constraints created by the holidays come into play. The printer we use will also be taking time off for the holidays and we as a studio will not have the time for another meeting until Sunday Dec. 12th...this will be the final meeting of the year.

If we cannot achieve the goal of getting these books out by year's end , rest assured they are right around the corner in early 2011 and January could be a blow out month for Twilight Star!

Another project......our supernatural/western "Shadow Rider" is once again on track and WILL BECOME the feature story in every issue of Pandemonium Spotlight as of issue #4. I am writing this...Tim Hagans is inking it. J.A. Bowshier is no longer the artist attached to the project and Tim and I are looking at an artist from Texas, more on that as it develops.

Unless you've been living in a cave somewhere you've no doubt heard about the Comic Related trading card set Darren Mueller is putting together. One of the cards that will be featured in the set and that the studio will be purchasing additional copies of with be one featuring the Un-Naturals! Check out this incredible mock up that Darren put together!

The card features pencil art by studio co-founder Gary Church and solid inks by Johnny on the spot, Joe "PohGo" Pruitt and was masterfully colored by Lisa Moore!

Twilight Star will have other associated properties in the card setl as there will be Jack the Rabbit trading card as well!

Here is the artwork that will be featured on that card.

I penciled this piece, what some people are calling the best picture I have ever drawn of the character. Joe Pruitt did an incredible inking job on this, turning it up another notch, and to keep an overall consistency between the cards Lisa will be doing the coloring on this card. Should look truly amazing when everything is done. I will soon be finalizing all the details about these two cards with Darren sometime within the next few days.

Besides those two cards there will be even more Twilight Star related properties in the set as the "Two Chads" both contribute a trading card to this creative cross promotion event....there will be a "Did Somebody Call For A Hero" card by Chad Strohl....and a card featuring cover art for "Lost Grooves" by Chad Lambert!!!

Twilight Star in the house and in the deck!

Hell Yeah!

Chad Strohl attended the Up Fair this past weekend in Lexington Kentucky, a new comic convention that caters to indie creators much like S.P.A.C.E. here in the central Ohio area.

Check out these pictures of Chad at the show...with a new haircut even!

BJay and John had to stop by the table just to figure out who this "new guy" was that was peddling Chad's books!!

Chad checking out the artwork of Scottie Ray Watson.

Another New Comic Day fan is born!

Well a few months ago I sold off about half the comic collection to make room at "Twilight Star South" and over this past weekend I finally got around to re-organizing "The Room" to make it more efficient as far as productivity goes and wanted to share a few photos of what it looks like now.

The new uncluttered computer area which I have already made use of to work out details about the trading cards, go over the layouts for Necrotrancer:Shades Of Gray, go over the Un-Naturals script and compare it to the finished art for the first few pages of the book, touch base with Joe about his progress on the Bumtastic Four and the two NCD strips he is working on, and work out details with the new artist on the Shadow Rider project, going back to the Lone Star state! And a name I'm sure everybody already knows.

The art area where I have been very busy inking the first few pages on the Un-Naturals. Very pleased with the way my inks and Derron Church's pencils mix on this combined effort!

And when I'm at the drawing table I've got to have some tunes! The re-designed stereo area has been kicking out the jams and pumping out the incense for three days now as I work. My wife is having a very hard time dragging me out of here.

Matter of fact I'm supposed to be helping make cookies right now! Better wrap this up!
