Kids should not be seeing this movie. Take the kids to check out Thor instead.

This movie is very adult in nature and writing, I really think for once the PG 13 rating is completely justified in the level of who should be seeing this movie. It's definitely not a movie that has kids in mind.

Good on you for not bringing said kids to see it sir.

Though why you'd be letting children read a marvel knights imprint book in the first place is confusing to me. It had an MA rating on it and was basically the MAX imprint before said imprint existed and full of people like Wolverine, the Punisher and Daredevil which all at the time were not geared towards younger readers at all.

I don't have any young kids anymore. But there's a reason why I never purchased Tim Burton's Batman when my kids WERE young- strong language and the implied BJ. The violence in the film were unrealistic enough. As far as purchasing Marvel Knights books, never have. I just couldn't afford to buy every new title Marvel & DC was putting out while trying to pay down my debt in my salary, and seeing my "heroes" become over the top violent or be more overtly sexual or curse wasn't of any interest to me.

And I STILL don't own a copy of Tim Burton's Batman.

Yeah, no kids should be taken to this movie based on the whole scene with Emma in the Russian's room! Not just for the language. Heck there's enough in this movie that I wouldn't have taken someone under 10 to it even if you take that scene and the language out of it.

I appreciate that you're sensitive to the fact that there are certainly some things that just aren't kid appropriate, many people aren't, but I can't understand why you're complaining about not taking your kids to it if you no longer have kids of that age???

Emma IS a powerhouse, the fact that January Jones couldn't act afraid with a loaded gun in her face ruined any chance of Emma having any impact in this movie. Which is a shame because the rest of the movie was well cast and for me a good Emma really could have made the movie. She had so many opportunities to steal the show and she was just unmemorable. sad.gif

I'm just complaining to make a point. I do have a great nephew who's exposed to a lot worse on cable but I wouldn't want him to be. Then again. I remember that I wasn't very interested in the X-Men myself until I turned 13 or so. I also wouldn't feel so comfortable with The Dark Knight because I STILL find Ledger's Joker to be extremely disturbing. I guess I haven't lost that bit of sensitivity.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie. Continuity aside, I guess I still wish that I could just put a filter on certain scenes in the movie and take everyone.

I went out and saw this today instead of Green Lantern (theater was packed for GL, while I was completely alone in X-Men in this rinky dink town) - thank goodness for $5 movie tickets!

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. There were only a couple of things I didn't care for, including Emma Frost, but overall I was very pleasantly surprised by how good the movie was and how well cast it was.

I'll save my complete thoughts for the next episode of Zone 4, but since we'll be doing non-spoiler there, I may come back here after that and spoiler tag some specific thoughts, we'll see.

I agree, not a movie for kids, some very mature themes sprinkled throughout.
