GL #59 has the Indigo Corps. come to earth, in search of their mascot, Proselyte. The Flash argues with Hal for a while. Then the mysterious bad guy shows up with Parallax, who possesses...
Not bad. Don't remember Barry ever talking this much, though.

Emerald Warriors #5 is a pretty good issue. guy and Co. are captured by some Green Lanterns, and fight there way free when the big villain makes the GL's kill one of their own. Guy learns where the rings are going and where the entity draining the rings came from. We also get the impetus for this little quest.
Good stuff.

GL #60 continues the Brightest Day crossover. Barry Allen is possessed by Parallax, and fights with Hal for a while, until the mysterious villain hauls all of the entitities out of the people they possessed, and stand revealed. I'm pretty sure we all knew who he was all along.

GL#61 doesn't show Hal Jordan at all even though he is onthe cover. It's pretty much a rogues' gallery issue dealing with Atrocitus and his avatar The Butcher.
Not a lot of forward movement for the Brightest Light crossover.

Emerald Warroiors #6 has Arisia and Killowog ditching Guy for lying to them about the true nature of their mission. Bleez stays around. They encounter the telepathic villain and find themselves in big trouble.
Meanwhile Sodam at is sucking up energy fromthe power rings.

Not bad.

GL #62 has Hal and the other corps fighting against Krona for the avatars of all the corps and losing when the JLa comes to lend a hand. Hal refuses their help, and goes off with the other corps.
Some pretty good moments, especially the character development of Krona.

The Lanterns are still fighting Krona, and Hal is having doubts about the whole thing.
Some pretty good stuff here. Hope the Green Lantern War is good.

GL #64 is the first part of the war of the green lanterns.
Salaak and crew are sent to arrest Hal, while the guardians themselves are taken over by the avatars. hal is still working with the other corps, when Salaak comes. Parallax is still hunting for Hal.
One Lord of the Rings reference that is completely inappropriate, and takes you out of the tale, but still pretty good.

Got GLC #58 is part 2 of the War of the Green Lnaterns.
Kyle whines the whole issue. We get a neat splash page with 100 members of the corps.
Krona Reintroduces Parallax into the central battery and takes over the minds of most of the Corps, except for Kyle, Jon, Killowog and Ganthet. Ganthet spends several pages trying to justify keeping Kyle alive, when so many other, worthier, characters are kakked. It doesn't work. Ganthet and Killowog sacrifice themselves so Jon and Kyle can escape.

Emerald Warriors #8 is the same thing as the first two parts of the War of the Green Lanterns, only this time told from Guy's perspective. Krona puts Parallax in the central battery, the GLs are taken over, yada yada yada.
Guy and Hal meet on a deserted planet, and argue and fight for a while, then take off their rings and go to hatch a plan.

Green Lantern 65 has Guy and Hal looking for their secret base and finding a space ship they immediately fly to OA and get get shot down.
Then they run around looking for Kyle and Jon.
Not bad. Stuff is actually happening.

Emerald Warriors #9 has the 4 earthlings tunnel underneath Oa, to get to the central battery. They find a secret basement filled with the Guardians' mistakes. Guy takes Krona's gauntlet. The 4 split up, and bad things start to happen.
Another action packed issue.

GL #66 is part 7 of the Green Lantern War. Hal and Guy are trying to get Parallax out of the central battery. Unfortunately, they have to deal with mind controlled Guardians, and Krona's plan for them.
Good stuff.

Emerald Warriors takes place after the War of the Green Lanterns, but was released before the storyline was finished. Great planning, DC.
Guy's travelling through space, and answers a distress call. This gets him into a whole lot of trouble.
Good done in one.

GL#67 is the last issue of the War of the Green Lanterns.
While in many ways, it's pretty good, it also seems rushed, and obviously written with the big reboot in mind.

Emerald Warriors #12 is anotherone shot with Guy Gardner. He and some of his buddies fight a menace released by Mogo's explosion.
Pretty good stuff, even though it seems like DC is just getting rid of stories in inventory.

In War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath #2, Sora and Kyle argue about killing Sinestro. The Guardians yell a lot. Mogo is given a funeral Pyre.
The set u for the new #1 could have been much better, or at least worth reading.

Folding Red Lanterns in with the Green ones.
Red Lanterns #1 is a disappointment as a first issue. I'm not sure a comic book based on these characters is a good idea in the first place.
The first issue consists of Dex-Starr the house cat lantern and Atrocitus killing some aliens. Then Atrocitus mopes around for a while whining about how his rage isn't as pure as it used to be since Hal Jordan killed Krona.
How is this supposed to appeal to anyone?

The first issue of Green Lantern doesn't give us much either. Sinestro finds that his corps. has enslaved Korugar, and is surprised. Really? He wasn't recruiting boy scouts for followers.
He gets upset.
Meanwhile Hal is readjusting to life without the ring. He gets about the only action sequence in the whole book, and pisses off Carol.
Once again, really no reason to buy the second issue.

Green Lantern Corps is more of the same. Some nameless Green Lanterns die gory deaths, Guy hangs outon Earth, Jon Stewart terrorizes some businessmen building a skyscraper, then a splash page with more nameless Green Lanterns(They actually have names, but no characterization), and some more gore.
Once again, no real reason to get the next issue.

Red Lantern #2 is like the old Herman's Hermits song, Henry the 8. Second verse, same as the first!
Atrocitus kills some blue skinned aliens and mopes around. That's it for me.

I hear you... I really want to like this book, but Venom... uh I mean Atrocius I think works better as a villain
