Those of you still among the uninformed, our own Lisa Moore is now the colorist on Boom Studio's ongoing comic series DARKWING DUCK!!! Way to go,
Lisa. All us Darkwing fans couldn't be happier.
G-Man
Frank, Brant, and I discuss this in a little more detail on the next episode of RaynMan which airs Monday afternoon, Jan. 17th.

This is indeed awesome news well worth celebrating!!! Way to go Lisa!

Scott Riley was shocked when I called and asked him to add Darkwing Duck to my pull file, until I explained why. Then he decided to order even more copies!
Ron Fortier
I just did the same with my comic guy, Bill. Anything Lisa colors, I'm there. Never mind I also love DD.

Congrats biggrin.gif
Gonzogoose
Yep, big congrats to Lisa!!!

She begins with issue #8, which is on sale January 26th, so add it to your pull, folks!!!

Way to go Lisa!

Wow Lisa, that's awesome news. I will definitely pick up the book smile.gif
Lisa Moore
Thanks everyone! I'm really excited about it. When I started coloring a few years ago I told my family that there were two things that would be dream projects. One was Dr. Who and the other was anything with Disney in the title. So this is literally a dream come true for my coloring career. Thanks again for the support, and to everyone who is going to pick up the book now that is awesome. smile.gif Now I guess I'd best get back to work.
Jay Carvajal
Congratulations, Lisa! Well deserved!

Sweet, congrats Lisa!

I can't believe I missed this! Well done Lisa!!
Lisa Moore
Thanks guys!

Just saw that the preview came out for issue #8 today. I did all of the story pages in the book. You can see some of the alternate universe darkwings I got to color. My favorite is the Doctor Who Darkwing on the first page. So much fun! smile.gif

So you can check it out if you want: http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album.php?gid=2897

That is awesome news Lisa!! Congrats!

I have always been a fan of Darkwing Duck/Disney, and I sure as heck love Lisa's work. I just wish I could afford to get my hands on the comic(s).
Congratulations Lisa, you deserve it!

So I'm curious, did anyone get a chance to get out today and pick up a copy of Lisa's first issue of Darkwing Duck today? I haven't made it out yet personally, but I'm eager to hear if anyone else did.
G-Man
I haven't picked it up yet because I haven't been by the shop yet this week...was going to stop by tonight...it should be in my file pull...but the weather was really crappy.

I should get it Saturday afternoon.
SapphireGypsy
I got a chance to see it in the shop today. It looks amazing. Congrats!
Lisa Moore
Awesome, I'm glad it turned out well. I haven't seen the printed version yet. My local shop doesn't carry them and I don't buy enough comics to want to go in and ask him to order them. lol So I ordered a copy online. There's a scene I colored with heavy pink energy glows that I'm really looking forward to seeing if it turned out as I saw it on screen. That was one of my favorite scenes of the issue.
G-Man
I was looking forward to getting my copy yesterday but Diamond bungled the order at my LCS and none of the copies Scott ordered were shipped (and he was just telling me how much better this problem had become a few weeks ago)

Anyway Scotty said the books should be in this Weds....which means I'll be picking mine up probably next Saturday though.

Told Raichal about this....she was a huge Darkwing Duck fan growing up and she's a huge Lisa Moore fan now. She can't wait to see this book as well. Neither can my 5 yr old granddaughter who I now watch Darkwing with on DVD....I plan to read these to her.

Got to start them out young.
SapphireGypsy
The Darkwing Doctor was adorable!
Lisa Moore
Got my copy of issue 8 in the mail today. I'm super happy with how it printed. I've been nervous since I started coloring that my monitor wasn't calibrated correctly so the colors might be off. I'm happy to report that they look almost exactly like I see them on my screen. Man that makes me feel a lot better. They are just smidge darker maybe than what I see on screen but not really that noticeable. There are a couple small things I'd go back and change if I could but all in all, whohoo it's nice holding this in my hand. smile.gif

Edit: Figured I'd snap a picture of happy me holding the book. lol This was my favorite scene to color out of the entire book. I figure the pic is small enough I'm not giving anything away if your reading the book. heh

I also realized I'm not helping my case any for the get fit initiative. If you look closely in the background you'll see a coke can. lol I can't help it I needed caffeine!!

G-Man
After MUCH delay I got my issue of Darkwing Duck # 8 today!!!!! Wahooo! This book is a hit with my whole family....myself, my wife, my daughter, and my grandkids....great job Lisa!!!!
Lisa Moore
Awesome! I'm glad you all liked it! smile.gif
Carl Shinyama
I realize that this is considerably late, but here's a heartfelt congratulations!!

P.S. I love Darkwing Duck!
Lisa Moore
Thanks very much Carl! smile.gif

The preview for issue 9 is out. I just noticed it. http://www.boom-kids.com/darkwing-duck-09-cover-b.html

This was my first issue all on my own. Meaning I didn't have to match any previously set up color schemes for certain scenes. That page with darkwing falling took a while to get right, I think there were like 4 or 5 versions before we decided to go with that one. We were trying to make the Mad Men reference clear. Hopefully it worked. So if anyone is looking to start picking up the title this is a good point to jump in. It's the first issue of a new arc.
Ron Fortier
Stopped into a local comic shop this afternoon and walked right into Darkwing Duck # 9 and scoffed it up immediately. Lisa, great job. It truly looks awesome!!!
Lisa Moore
Thanks Ron!! I haven't seen how that one printed yet so its nice to know it turned out well. There were couple places where I tried some new things in that issue, I'm looking forward to seeing how it turned out. I should get my copy in the mail tomorrow. smile.gif

Lisa gets a great review on her work on Darkwing:

http://negaverse.net/duck-knight/?p=519

"New colorist

Issue 9 has a new colorist, Lisa Moore. Were it not for the credits, I would not have known there was a change in staff! This is a good thing in my opinion, because the series remains consistent in appearance. Not to mention she does a superb job keeping up with all those cameos and action scenes!"
G-Man
I'll be picking up issue # 9 Saturday....wahooo!
Zimmerman
Late to the party, but big CONGRATS Lisa on your hard work! Will track down the comic this weekend!
Lisa Moore
Thanks matt!

It's very cool that you all are picking up the book!

Just wrapped colors on issue #10 yesterday. Whohoo!
G-Man
An unexpected treat was waiting for me in my comic pull file this evening....Darkwing Duck Annual #1 in which the first story of the book is colored by Lisa!!!

YaY!!!!

Still haven't gotten a copy of Darkwing #9 yet....hmmmmm. I'm sure it's coming. I guess Scott had to reorder it. But this book being in my file is a positive sign that this snapfu is getting resolved.

I'm extremely late to this thread but wanted to congratulate Lisa on her success and hope for her future to be even more prosperous. She deserves her kudos for all the hard work and determination.

Same. Congrats on all your success Lisa. smile.gif
Lisa Moore
Thanks very much guys!!

Also Bill very cool that you picked up the annual. I still need to get a copy of that one. It was fun coloring a different artist on darkwing. The editor requested a darker tone for that one, so I played with texture a lot more on those pages. Hopefully it worked to make them a bit more moody. My favorite scene in that story was the one with quackerjack's "girlfriend". Of course my favorite would be the one with the brightest colors. lol
G-Man
I think it turned out great Lisa and feel you got the darker mood you were looking for.

Loved both stories in this book! The one you worked on is BETTER of course.

I always liked Quakerjack anyway.
G-Man
Lisa-

Your work on Darkwing Duck #10 was INCREDIBLE!!!! Perhaps your best yet. Great job, keep em' coming!

Thanks! I wrapped #11 last week... I think it was my favorite of the bunch so far. I still need to pick up the annual and #10, gonna have to remember to order them or have my local shop order them. I just rarely go up there.
Lisa Moore
So I don't think I mentioned it on the forums yet but my time with Darkwing has come to a close. It was a ton of fun while it lasted! The series officially ends with issue 18. I received my copies in the mail yesterday, which means I can't hold on any longer, gotta move on. lol I was particularly pleased that the last two issues were a cross over with the Duck Tales comic, so I was able to color a bunch of those characters. I was more of a duck tales girl in my younger days so that was a bonus for sure. I don't believe a preview has been released of the final issue but I do think it was some of my best work to date. So to make this a bit more interesting though I snagged a page from issue 17.

In other news I can officially say that another comic book dream of mine came true after finishing up on Darkwing. I was given the chance to color some stories for the new Peanuts ongoing for Boom. They're like wish granters boom studios. heh I'm a huge fan of Charles Schulz and Peanuts. So they've allowed me to color a book with Disney in the title and now I'm working on Peanuts. It just doesn't get any better. smile.gif Here's a page from the issue 0 preview that I believe is out now. So if you couldn't tell I'm just a little bit excited about it. happy.gif

So that's it, just wanted to drop in with some news. Now back to work, why is it that I'm most productive between 11 and 3 in the morning? I just don't get it. lol

Gonzogoose
Whoo-hooo that's awesome, Lisa! So this is what you were hinting at. As they used to say, good on you!

Peanuts has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid, so that's really cool.
G-Man
This is great news, Lisa!

I'll enjoy reading this book, glad you are working on it and pointed me in the right direction!
G-Man
Just called the comic shop and Scott made sure he placed a copy of this book in my file.

Lisa-I don't know how you do it, first you color the childhood hero of my daughter ...now you're working on a book that features some of the great characters that I grew up with.

There is magic in the air...and colors that are magical.
Gonzogoose

Lisa Moore
That's awesome Bill, thanks for checking it out! I'm just getting super lucky with the things they have me working on. You have no idea how excited I was when the email with the peanuts offer came in. heh

Brant, thanks for the link to the preview. I guess I hadn't really noticed the new gallery feature for the previews before this. That's pretty cool!
G-Man
You had mentioned the Peanuts gig to me, but the preview reminded me that the book was out....RIGHT NOW...and I had to get a copy.
Lisa Moore
Had I mentioned it? Wow, totally forgot about that. That's what happens when I'm busy I become forgetful... luckily I usually remember my deadlines, that seems to be about it though. lol

I'm glad your picking it up, you can never have to much Charlie Brown. smile.gif
G-Man
Just read Peanuts # 0 and loved it....loved the new stories and the reprinted classics put together to go perfectly with the fall season. Your coloring on the book was...as always....picture perfect.

Do you know if this is going to be an ongoing series? And if so are you attached as a colorist? And were you involved with the "Happiness Is A Warm Blanket" graphic novel which was previewed at the end of this issue?

Nice work...next time I see you I will have a stack of books for you to sign!

Gonzogoose
Bill, as far as I know, it is an ongoing series launching in January with Peanuts #1. And she can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Lisa is attached to the ongoing at least for some stories.

The first issue will feature a Charles Schulz cover according to a press release that just came in this morning:
