2007 Xeric Winner Gods of Asgard

Gods of Asgard is a full-length graphic novel interpretation of the Norse myths, drawing on English translations of the original source material. It is a lifelong dream of artist/author Erik Evensen, who realized that although the mythology figures prominently in the world of comics, a true, straightforward adaptation has a never been published.

Gods of Asgard, a 160-page, black-and-white, perfect bound graphic novel, will be available for purchase in September, 2007. Published by Studio E3, it is distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors to comic book shops in the USA, Canada, and the UK. It is published with the help of a grant from the Xeric Foundation, an organization whose purpose is to give financial assistance to comic book self-publishers, on the basis of originality, literary and artist merit, and commitment to the medium. Gods of Asgard recieved the maximum Xeric Grant for spring 2007.
