Peter Davison's daughter Georgia Moffett will play a key role in the upcoming fourth season of Doctor Who. The show's producer Phil Collinson told Doctor Who Magazine about the decision to cast Moffett, whose father played the popular Time Lord in the classic series: "Fans might recognise that name... but that's not why we cast her. She's a very fine actor - in fact, she's been lined up for a very long time, since we auditioned Georgia for the Agatha Christie episode. "But as soon as we saw her, we realised there was a much bigger and better part later on in the series... so Georgia kindly waited until the time was right. It's a role now one will ever forget!" - Digital Spy, 12/16/07 [link]
In probably what could be the largest cast upheaval in "Doctor Who's" more than 40-year history, it seems that not only will the show lose its third companion in as many years, but The Doctor himself. Catherine Tate, who joined the show as the new full-time companion for the upcoming fourth season, recently told Radio 2 that this is likely the final season for David Tennant as The Doctor, who took over in the second season from Christopher Eccleston, and that she may not go any longer than her predecessor, Freema Agyeman. The departure could come even as early as the end of the upcoming season, as Tate wouldn't say whether or not Tennant would appear in three specials that will provide "Doctor Who" for 2009, reportedly done to make room for Tennant's stage schedule that year. - SyFy Portal, 12/15/07 [link]

While the 4th season of Dr. Who won't hit the BBCuntil spring of 2008, fans will have to wait much longer for the 5th season, says The Hollywood Reporter. Leading star, David Tennant, will be taking time off from the international hit tv showto do some stage work with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon. The trade is reporting that the 5th season won't be airing on BBC until at least 2010 due to this scheduling conflict.
