This has been an interesting morning. With the news that George Miller's "Justice League" will have spin-offs, Variety reports the latest spin-off news: "Warner Bros. has set Greg Berlanti to direct "Green Lantern," a live-action take on the DC Comics superhero. Berlanti will write the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green. Donald De Line will produce; Andrew Haas is exec producer. - Silver Bullet Comics, 10/29/07 [link]
As with many DC Comics characters, Green Lantern has had a long slog to get to this point – many attempts on the character have been rumored to be in the works over the past years, including a more comedic take with actor Jack Black in the title role. No word was given as to which Green Lantern will be featured in the film, but, given the recent revamp and return of Hal Jordan to the role, the test pilot introduced in 1959’s Showcase #22 would be the best bet, beating out Alan Scott, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner. - Newsarama, 10/29/07 [link]
